Samsung N150 Plus Bumble Bee Yellow Netbook Review Posted: 17 Sep 2010 06:36 PM PDT Yesterday I bought a new netbook for my wife, it’s Samsung N150 Plus with yellow color and already include Windows 7 Starter Edition OS. Actually she want to buy Lenovo S10-3S pink color with designful with flowers but it’s not available in any stores. The HP 210 Vivian Tam also make her interested but the technology and design is too old if I look. And then she look at the Samsung N150 Plus with Bumble Bee Chevy Camaro’ color on Transformer movie. She said none has this netbook with eye catching looks. So, I check the specification. N150 Plus netbook powered by the latest Intel Atom N450 1.66 GHz, 1GB of RAM DDR2, 160GB of HDD, Li-Ion battery with up to 10-hours battery life, 3x bluetooth 2.1+EDR and one of them can be charge for mobile phone. The display is 10.1-inch WSVGA with 1024×600 pixel resolution and it’s already using LED backlit, integrated graphic card Intel GMA3150, webcam, SD card slot, ethernet port, wifi 802.11 b/g/n. The Samsung N150 Plus also include softcase, charger for battery, manual book and 1-year warranty. The first I look at is the heat. I already have Acer Aspire One D250 but the heat on the keypad is really not comfortable. But on Samsung N150 Plus the heat is reduce significantly. Only warm on the left side and on the right side of the keypad is cool even I play a movie for my little boy. Some people said because of the battery cell so the heat of my AOD being too hot. Now I look at the screen, it’s like Lenovo ThinkPad Series or HP Mini 110 with dop screen, so it will not make you dazzled. The keypad also comfortable but with white color it will dirty relative easier. Also you can see the symbol like USB, SD card, power and the others to easily connect without take your head out from the display. I just impressed with the webcam quality, it’s really bright and you can take a good quality pictures with several decoration. The battery life I am not tested yet, but I am sure it has long life time maybe around 7-8 hours. Samsung N150 Plus already built-in with several 60-minutes trial games, MS Office 2007 and McAfee antivirus for 30-days trial. So I remove all to make the netbook better loading. The performance with only 1GB DDR2 memory is quite good but I still see the lagging when I play music and browsing, so I plan to upgrade the memory using 2GB for better performance. The rating is 9/10 for Samsung N150 Plus, and I bought it around $340. Laptop Review |
