There has been quite a time I haven’t heard about leaks about Windows 8 build and today I here one more 64 bit Windows 8 of Milestone 3 (m3) build 6.2.7989.0 has been leaked into the web.The full build string is 6.2.7989.0.amd64fre.winmain.110421-1825 indicating April 11, 2011 as the compilation date, apparently from winmain branch, the branch that typically get released as a beta, RC or RTM. That almost two months earlier, which means the development of Windows 8 now is almost closed to beta phase.

Some of the new features that been found on this 64 bit version of build Windows 8 M3 are immersive UI (patched shsxs.dll for unlock required), new boot screen, new "Language Switcher" interface on Taskbar, new interface to enable or disable Windows functions, new Aero in "Metro-style", new History Vault interface, and a new wallpaper. The build is also found to be much more stable that previously leaked builds. However, some features such as user tiles have been locked and hidden instead.

For those who are interested to try this build MDL gave a external link to try this one out.mind you its a 64 bit version and NOT a 32 bit one.(Try at your own risk)

File Name: 6.2.7989.0.amd64fre.winmain.110421-1825.iso
Size: 3.54 GB
CRC32: 374EC90D
MD5: 4480F94C0E11CE58DC9B7330678F07DD
SHA-1: C09CDCEC2540D93EEBE650B521B2F7AE477A300A

There is one more version of ISO for leaked Windows 8 Build 7989 which has missing 200 KB of size also circulating on the Web, which has the MD5 of 5CB7A32FB7A83972081792EC27BA8CCC and SHA1 of 5C7828407F6C8CD8EE655E821AEA85F3544BCB84, but the build is functional and working too with identical install.wim file. It's widely believed that the beta version of Windows 8 will be released soon, probably some time in September when the BUILD event is held.

Chronic Dev Team Claims It’s “Still Working” On iPad 2 Jailbreak

Posted: 18 Jun 2011 10:39 PM PDT

Chronic dev’s Joshua Hill one of the devs of Chronic team GreenPois0n has assured a solution for those who are planning to jailbreak their iPad 2 with GreenPois0n.The team says they are still working on an iPad 2 jailbreak and be patient. Here is the quote “We're still diligently working on both the iPad2 jailbreak & lots of other exciting projects. Sorry, & thanks for your patience!”

Previously before a month’s time after the same developer posted on Chronic Dev's blog that an iPad 2 jailbreak would be coming soon, although no official date was specified. Essentially, this is no news, other than the slight reassurance that the project hasn't been dropped entirely.

Slightly before that, the same developer challenged George Hotz, the developer responsible for first unlocking the original iPhone back in 2007, to jailbreak the iPad 2 before him:

I challenged geohot to dump the iPad2 bootrom before me. Maybe having a worthy opponent will motivate me to work harder =P

With a new version of JailbreakMe teased over the weekend, this method, at least when it's available, is unique because it doesn't require any computer connection with the device and barely any skills to apply the jailbreak: users simply need to visit JailbreakMe.com. The website will then take advantage of a PDF exploit within Safari to load the jailbreak onto the machine, all fully software-based.

While you wait, you're free to send Chronic Dev feedback on their line of apparel. It's not yet clear which “projects” the team is working on either, hopefully it will be worth the wait.

Thanks RedmondPie
