AT&T employees told to prepare for June launch of iPhone 4G Posted: 26 May 2010 03:44 PM PDT Here is some shocking news about the next gen iPhone 4G.We expected that Steve jobs would unveil the next gen iPhone in the keynote address during the WWDC but BoyGenuisReport reports that AT&T employees have been informed that the phone is actually coming, and may in fact be on sale in the month of June, not July.MacRumors points out that this corresponds neatly with a previously-BGR-reported block on employee vacations for June affecting the cell carrier. Even Mashable had reported that the new phones might go on sale during the developer conference itself, which would be quite a way to kick off the summer. So to sum all this up this makes sense that it might go for sale in June itself.Steve jobs also responded to Macrumors Bryan Webster when he had asked whether we would to see some good announcements and Steve responded saying ” You wouldn’t be dissapointed.” Related Posts : |

How to manually update your Nexus one to Android 2.2 Posted: 26 May 2010 05:33 AM PDT Recently Android 2.2 aka Froyo was announced in the Google I/O event and there wasnt any announcement when Froyo would be made available on all the latest Android phones.Nexus one users should be happy as Google has started rolling Android 2.2 aka Froyo FRF50 as an OTA update although there is no exact timescale on when it will be rolled out to everyone. The main notification came thanks to XDA Developers and also PaulOBrien twitter status.I guess you have a stock Nexus one on Android 2.1 ERE27.If you are on stock Android 2.1 then do the rooting first using Quickrooter.Head over to XDA Developers to root stock Android 2.1 thanks to Cyanogen.
If you're coming from an already rooted rom/recovery, just apply this update from Paul O'Brien.Users on unrooted AT&T Nexus One's will have trouble with the above steps since the rom is designed for coming from the ERE27 version of 2.1 which is T-Mobile specific. However, it seems that if your AT&T Nexus One has been rooted, you can flash the update using a third party recovery image and still have 3G. Here is a user report from XDA-Developers:
Now next step is to Flash your Nexus one
Note: make sure the file is named update.zip and not update.zip.zip.
There you go! You now have Android 2.2 on your Nexus One, not to mention a faster device, automatic upgrading of apps, a "comments" tab on Android Market and a bunch more. For more screenshots head to Phandroid.com courtesy of Mike Novak Via Android Police Update: Even HTC Hero users can now get the Android 2.2 on their phones.Zenulator one of senior member of XDA forum has successfully ported Nexus One Android 2.2 Froyo FRF50 to HTC Hero. Here is what he quotes on this
He says some points which work like the Data, calls(not fully), Launcher2, Keypad/Trackball leds, Google apps.So the missing ones which arent working is the GPS/Wi-fi, Bluetooth , Audio. Interested users can download the Android 2.2 Froyo ROM for HTC Hero from here. Start Slide Show with PicLens LiteRelated Posts :This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
HTC Hengshan and Huashan for Windows Phone 7 show up Posted: 26 May 2010 05:00 AM PDT Recently there was news about three seemingly new names for upcoming HTC’s devices namely Vision,LED and Glacier.Tweakers.net had reported a user agent profile for the Vision that showed the device featuring WVGA display, QWERTY kyepad and on Android. Even the director of HTC Benelux quoted that they’re planning more Android phones with keyboards. If this was not all two more potential Windows Phone 7 devices, the HuaShan and T5588 HengShan have made their cameo appearance.Huashan is supposedly has a 480 x 800 screen (no obvious relation to the leaked Windows Phone 7 ROM which was a Mondrian) while the latter sports the more typical 320 x 480.Not much details are known yet but one thing for sure that we can see some HTC Windows Phone 7 devices by the end of 2010.
