XFX to ship radeon HD 5970 in Gun case F200 look-alike

Posted: 22 Apr 2010 01:43 AM PDT

Nvidia may flaunt that they have the fastest single GPU card namely the  GTX 480 but the fastest video card title would still go with ATI Radeon HD 5970.If leaks about an upcoming XFX product are to be believed, the Radeon HD 5970 is about to get a bit of a boost in an upcoming premium dual GPU card.If you check out the pic below it shows a upcoming Radeon HD 5970 with 4GB of RAM and six mini-DisplayPort connectors, making it ready for Eyefinity6 – for six displays driven simultaneously. This seemed obvious as  previously XFX said no shipping of  GTX 470 and GTX 480.

While this new card coming from XFX will be topping the benchmarks for sure, what sets this vendor’s offering apart from the rest is the supposed packaging that resembles a F2000 firearm. The packaging will be plastic and can serve as a carrying case.According to Legit Reviews, XFX will be handpicking the GPUs for this series of cards to increase their attractiveness to overclockers. As for pricing, we’re supposed to expect pricing at around $100 more than current Radeon HD 5970 cards. This would a awesome venture as recently XFX moved to ATi way.The vanilla 5970 would cost around 32k in India and this may seem to be a bit more costly as it supports 6 displays and whooping 4Gb memory. So if you on a high budget and need sheer performance with cool case too then go for it ;)
