Reason why Apple was missing from MacWorld Expo 2010

Posted: 18 Feb 2010 08:13 AM PST

If you remember Apple’s last year’s announcement, they said they won’t be a part of the MacWorld Expo starting this year itself and made it clear that it had no intentions to return. This has happened for the first time in 25 years that Apple gave a miss to the Expo.

So why do you think this happened in the first place? Also, there was speculation that Macworld without Apple would be a complete disaster but several reports on the internet actually state that it was fantastic and would’ve been worse if Apple was there! People were able to explore other non-apple products. The reason why this expo is hit among the masses is because it’s not just meant for distributors, retailers and manufacturers but for the mac community in general which includes common people.

To top it all, the expo even had an Apple-critical presentation, which we can vouch would not have been even talked about if the expo started with T3H Stevenote. Do you think the reason they pulled out is because Apple wants to introduce new products on its own schedule and not when trade shows take place? That’d be a rather vague reason though. The main reason was none of the product refresh cycle’s match with the dates of MacWorld. So It was just a waste of money. What do you feel is the main reason behind it  ?
