Google and HTC coming up with a tablet to take over Apple Posted: 05 Jan 2010 03:09 AM PST News has been surfacing that Google in collab with HTC is building a competitor to Apple’s iSlate tablet.Google is hosting an Android event today but it is unlikely this device will be announced at that event.Google has supposedly been working over the past 18 months with HTC (the same company that is building the Nexus One) to build a tablet like device that will run a Chrome based OS. There are also several working models of the device according to Australian publication smarthouse.com.au. An Android based device which is set to be shown privately to core HTC customers at the CES Show is set to incorporate new Qualcomm processors, touch technology and new software from Adobe. Not much info is available at the momemnt but one thing is sure that Google is behind this operation to counter attack on its counterpart Apple. With the invent of Nexus One Google is entering hardware market as well.Lets hope Google come up soon with a tablet and also hoping success for Nexus one |
Posted: 04 Jan 2010 10:45 PM PST Lot of buzz is happening in regards to Nexus one and Engadget was able to get a hands on look of the next-gen Phone from Google i.e Nexus one.The hands-on preview of the Nexus One takes you through the customizable motion backgrounds, with interactive touch-screen software. Some of the added features in Android 2.1 and the Nexus One phone are the weather widget, which gives you the current and 7-day forecast. The widget also comes with top news stories from the U.S., sports and entertainment. Some of the new features include multi-tasking quick list, prompted when the user holds down on the screen to jump from page to page. The menu icon arrangement also received a new look and feel, icons on the desktop will give off the appearance that they are curving or tucking them away when slightly out of view on the top or bottom of the screen.Nexus One comes with Google Maps improvement on scrolling, and is much faster compared to Droid. One of the coolest features on the Nexus One is the live wallpaper backgrounds, where some interact with the user’s touch, a feature that boasts great potential. The downside to this feature is that it could be rather taxing on the CPU of the device, using up more battery life than users would expect.Check out the video and gallery pics for the same and let me know how you feel Unfortunately the video what Engadget got has been removed from you tube due to copyright issues.Until then check out the First review of the Unlocked Nexus one. |
Posted: 04 Jan 2010 10:23 AM PST I had posted about Apple’s tablet iSlate and now PhoneArena has posted some insider specs for the same. The Operating system is called Mac OS X Clouded Leopard v 10.7. Hardware specs for iSlate
As you can see from the hardware specs it features a faster Core2 duo processor with 2gb of ram. What’s special here is a something called Super Drive which is nothing but a external USB optical drive which would be sold seperately. The 10.1″ Foxconn wont be releasing i feel so only 7″ ones would be sold.I am not sure how true these specs are but would come with a price tag of around 1000$.This would be confirmed on 26th Jan in the Apple event San Francisco at Yerba Buena Center For The Arts.Lets hope this is true. |
