Mankind knows tusk-carving traditions for many centuries. Mammoths are long gone centuries back, and most of their remnants are found deep in the frozen soils of Siberia. Mammoth tusk is a very rare and precious substance, it's used in making of artifacts and jewelry. And before the invention of plastic, it was ivory that was used for making cutlery handles, musical instruments, billiard balls, buttons, and wide range of ornamental items.
