The device starts shipping July 15, 2009 and will come in white. The Hero is the first HTC smartphone to incorporate Sense UI which you can see on the photo above. Google-branded HTC Android phones will not be loaded with HTC’s Sense UI.
The HTC Hero features a 3.2-inch HVGA (320 x 480 resolution) screen, 528Mhz processor, 288MB RAM, 512MB ROM, 5 megapixel camera, built-in WiFi, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack and is loaded with v1.5 of the Android operating system. The device uses a trackball for navigation instead of the conventional directional pads found in other touchscreen smartphones. The display/screen is capacitive just like the iPhone which means it is capable of accepting multi-touch input methods.
