AT&T releasing the Samsung Jack on May 19, 2009

Posted: 14 May 2009 03:30 PM PDT

Samsung Jack from AT&T

The Samsung Jack (otherwise also known as the BlackJack III) from AT&T runs on Windows Mobile 6.1 (upgradeable to 6.5 once available) and will feature the following: 2.4-inch QVGA resolution screen, 3.2 megapixel camera, WiFi, 3.5mm audio jack, A-GPS. For a complete list of specifications, please go to this page on GSM Arena. The Samsung Jack is definitely a step up from the Samsung BlackJack II.

The AT&T highly resembles the HTC Snap, but of course it will not have the “Inner Circle” feature being marketed by HTC.

The Samsung Jack will be available for $99 after a $100 mail-in rebate from AT&T with a two-year contract. It is very important to note that in the press release, a personal PDA data plan is required in addition to the voice plan.

Here’s a video of someone unboxing the Samsung Jack and giving a slight overview of the device.

How’s your Ritz Camera liquidation sales bargain hunting?

Posted: 14 May 2009 02:15 PM PDT

Ritz Camera Sale

Ritz Camera has stated that it will be closing approximately 50% of its stores across the United States. The surprising thing that CrunchGear has noted, is that there are actually some deals to be had at their ongoing liquidation sales.

Closing stores usually go no more than 40% off when they say they are closing. Surprising enough, the Matt Burns of CrunchGear spotted a sale banner at his local Ritz Camera store and it seems that the smallest discount they’re giving is 50%! Not sure if the percentages shown above will be the same across all stores, better try your luck and check out the Ritz Camera near you to see if you’ll be able to snag any of the good stuff before the store completely closes down.
