Who is the Youth’s choice – Mitt Romney or Barack Obama? Posted: 17 May 2012 10:45 AM PDT The United States of America is all set for its Presidential elections once again. At the moment the question is whether the youth will take interest in voting and if they do who will they vote for? We cannot exactly say anything but we can always make our own predictions. Lets take a look at the history of American voters before we can take a guess about the present. The Presidential elections in 2008 saw a highly enthusiastic young voters who belong to the age group that
Did you know that there was a noticeable difference in the number of male and female voters? In the 2008 presidential elections 49 percent of the American men took part in the selection of their President while there were 51 percent of female citizens. Only 58 percent of the people who turned 18 in 2008 agreed to have voted in the general elections that year. Now lets take a look at which parts of the American society actively participated in the 2008 elections. According to records 58 percent of the Whites, 21 percent of the Hispanic, 12 percent of the African Americans, 6 percent of other races and 3 percent of a mixture of all races formed the voters in those elections. This is the list of voters. But wouldn’t you want to know what percentage of people voted for which party? I’m sure you do. So here’s your answer! 24 percent of the American population supported the Republicans, 37 percent of them were in favor of the Democrats and the rest 38 percent of them went with the independent parties. The big question is – what does the youth of America expect from its President as the leader of the nation? Their pleas are not very hard to heed to. All they want is better jobs and removal of unemployment, removal of federal deficit, evils like abortion and permission for marriage among the people of the same sex. If they can get these facilities without any unrest in the nation I think there will be nothing for an average American to ask for. But again the question arises – who will be more sensitive to citizens’ needs? Mitt Romney or Barack Obama? Who do you think will be the perfect President of America? What are Smartphones in India for the Men and the Women? Posted: 17 May 2012 09:53 AM PDT The difference between men and women is not only in their way of looking, thinking, behaving and reacting but also in their way of using their smartphones. Strange isn’t it? But its true. Let me show you the difference through this article. On an average people of both the genders use all mobile applications but who uses what the most is what we are going to find out in this article. Talk about browsing and you will see that men spend more than 50 percent time than women in this activity. Women would rather use their laptops than struggle with small inconvenient keys of their phones. So we conclude that browsing on the smartphones is popular among the men. But it is not only browsing that we do on a smartphone! Lets see the percentage of men and women in other activities. Women are known to be more expressive than men so it should be no surprise when I say women spend three hours more on phone than men every month. Men probably prefer meeting in person rather than spend hours on the phone. I have just pointed out another difference in preference of men and women. It is so strange that one phone can mean different things for men and women. Moving on, we all chat with friends by using text messages. But research findings have revealed that women spend four times the time spent by men texting. Now that’s a significant amount of time. I’m sure most girls just like me agree with this statement. We could spend hours texting someone without realizing the passage of time. Guess it’s the other way round for the guys. There’s one thing that the guys exceed the girls in. Can you guess what that is? Give up? It is the downloading of applications. The moment a guy gets a new phones he’s all exited to make the best use of it, whereas a girl is not all that interested as long as it serves her basic needs of talking and texting. This is proven from the fact that men download as many as 16 applications per month, which is a lot more than the 11 applications downloaded by women. Men go in for Google Maps and other similar applications where as women make best use of applications like WhatsApp, Google Talk and Nimbuzz. While the situation is such no one has been able to decide why it is so. Can you think of a reason?
