Nvidia confirms GeForce GTX 560 (non-Ti) for May 17 Posted: 15 May 2011 07:44 AM PDT For no apparent reason except maybe building up hype, Nvidia has confirmed rumors of the incoming release of a Titanium-less GeForce TX 560. The new DirectX 11 card will be introduced on May 17th, two days from now and will be positioned (price and performance wise) somewhere between the GeForce GTX 460 and GTX 560 Ti. Nvidia wouldn’t talk about specification but it did make a preview of the GeForce GTX 560, running it in three upcoming games – Duke Nukem Forever, Alice: Madness Returns and Dungeon Siege III. The GTX 560 was ‘compared’ to the GeForce 9800 GT (the most popular graphics card according to the latest Steam survey ) and, guess what – the yet-unreleased card delivered better performance than a 2008 product. Shocked eh ? According to the info leaked to date, the (probably $199-priced) GeForce GTX 560 (non-Ti) features 336 CUDA Cores (like the GTX 460), 56 Texture Units, a 256-bit memory interface and 1GB of GDDR5 memory.
