Windows phone 7 launches in the US Posted: 09 Nov 2010 05:42 AM PST
All those Windows phone 7 fans in the US, now the time has come to get hands on these Windows phone 7 beauties.Microsoft launched its new mobile OS last month in Europe. Well, not any more — the HTC Surround and Samsung Focus (AT&T) and HTC HD7 (T-Mobile) are already available for purchase and the Dell Venue Pro is rumored to be out sometime soon. The LG Quantum is up for pre-order too with Amazon claiming an 8 to 9 business day delivery. Prices drop to as low as $149.99 at Dell Mobility (which still doesn’t list its own Venue Pro) and $99 at Amazon Wireless when purchased with new service plans. Expect to pay $199.99 for any of the above mentioned Windows Phones, though better deals are available through the likes of Amazon.com, as is often the case. LG Vortex hits Verizon Wireless soon free on contract Posted: 09 Nov 2010 04:44 AM PST Verizon Wireless is broadening its wide reach with its Android lineup beyond DROID-branded devices, we're seeing some nice inexpensive options from Big Red… and it doesn't get any less expensive than free. We've known for some time that the LG Vortex — a CDMA version of the T-Mobile Optimus T — was on its way to to Verizon. Now, we have official confirmation of the Vortex's imminent launch thanks to an appearance on the Verizon website above a "coming soon" label.
To add to that,Engadget Mobile reports that the upcoming smartphone will be available for free on contract. It's not clear if this is just promotional pricing for the holidays or if the Vortex will be free for good, but it's definitely a solid deal on a perfectly capable Android Phone. The LG Vortex is an entry-level Android 2.2 device with a 600MHz processor, a 3.2-megapixel camera and a 320 x 480-pixel touchscreen display. Samsung Zeal leaks out by Verizon exposing dual hinge design Posted: 09 Nov 2010 04:26 AM PST If you remember there were some paper leaks of this mobile device but if that wasn’t enough, here’s the first official imagery of the Samsung Zeal. It is, as speculated, a dual-hinge, dual-display affair, equipped with an E Ink keyboard that transitions from a four-row QWERTY arrangement to a dialpad depending on orientation. If you feel you’ve seen this before, then that might be because you were one of the few to notice Samsung’s Alias 2, which also is from Verizon. The Zeal is expected to arrive in stores on November 11th, so you can expect this premature little cameo to be augmented with full specs and a price very soon indeed.
