Internet Phone – State of the Art Means of Communication Posted: 20 Oct 2010 07:56 AM PDT VoIP technology is the state of the art means of communication present in the market at the moment. Analyzing past trends, consumers have always hesitated to switch to new, better and advanced technology due to a variety of reasons, however this has not been the case with internet phone. Frustrated from quality of service of conventional telephone services and not to forget the call rates that these telephone companies charge, has led to the switch over from conventional telephone services to internet phone. The change has been far more rapid than it was anticipated primarily due to the fact that Voice over IP services are far cheaper than conventional telephone services and much more efficient than conventional telephone or landline telephones. It is a very simple technology but it has taken to a long time to get this service into the market. VoIP services are internet based services. Voice signals are converted into digital data packets which are then transmitted over the internet from one user to another where they are converted back to voice signals hence allowing users to conduct audio and video conversations. In order to ensure its efficiency it is imperative that you have a high bandwidth internet connection. VoIP services have allowed users to make international calls at rates that they had not imagined before. Many VoIP companies offer unlimited dialing to various or selected international destinations for a very reasonable monthly flat rate. Therefore, keeping in touch with your loved ones has never been so easy and never been so light on your pocket. Internet phone services have been able to eliminate the additional long distance dialing charges. Another plus point of switching to internet phone services is that, you get a bundle of value added services free. Services such as call waiting, call conferencing, call forwarding, voice to email, video conferencing and many more services are offered to users for free and the best part is that the services also come as standard with the most basic services. Initially when internet phone services were introduced in the market, these services were only available to PC users and you were only able to make PC to PC calls but now with the constant R&D, you can make calls from VoIP to VoIP and VoIP to other networks. You get unlimited local and long distance dialing with selected international destinations for less than a conventional telephone service with domestic dialing facility. Basic VoIP packages start from as low as $9.99 + tax. Therefore, call cost is definitely low and all you need is a high bandwidth internet connection to experience the best of VoIP. Furthermore, you can take your VoIP number anywhere in the world and use it to make calls wherever there is an internet connection, so now you will never be out of office or out of touch. T-Mobile G2 overclocked to 1.4GHz, with (video) Posted: 20 Oct 2010 05:30 AM PDT It didn’t take too long though.T-Mobile’s G2 (aka the HTC Vision) has been let off its leash and is overclocked to 1.4Ghz(1420 Mhz to be exact).XDA-developers member coolbho3000 has posted his over clock module, which takes an already fast phone and make it considerably more perky. He started at a modest 1GHz, but kept on pushing up to 1.42GHz — though there’s potential to go even higher. All this despite T-Mobile’s hardware rootkit preventing a permanent root, but certainly seeming to allow for a fair bit of tweaking.Check out XDX developers link and interested and try at their own risk.Video coming up after the break.
