“Spirit” iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch (3.2, 3.1.3 & 3.1.2) Jailbreak Mechanism Out Posted: 03 May 2010 03:33 PM PDT Finally the jailbreak mechanism for iPad is out for the firmware 3.1.3.This mechanism also holds for the iPod Touch and iPhone with the firmware 3.1.3.So this is great news for iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch users stuck who are stuck on 3.1.3. firmware.Spirit is the name for the jailbreak tool.Let me tell you what Spirit is
You can now Download the Jailbreak from Spirit here. Before you try this one out, make sure that you Grab your SHSH files using the AutoSHSH Grabber from here so that if anything goes wrong you can still be Jailbroken. Back them the files up and keep them in a safe place! Backing ECID SHSH blobs is necessary only for newer iDevices iPhone 3Gs and iPad cause once Apple releases either a firmware patch or when OS 4.0 is released, you wont be able to downgrade back to either 3.1.3 or 3.2.Its a simple One-Click Jailbreak, just like Blackra1n. So it should be easy to use ! This solution would be useful for who are stuck with 3.1.3 OTB as not upgrading from 3.1.2 doesn’t make much difference Spirit jailbreak is available for Windows (Mirror) and Mac OSX(Mirror). Ad1tya from forums i often check out gave some info on which apps work on the iPad.Thanks Ad1.;)

Gaikai lets you play World of warcraft on the iPad Posted: 03 May 2010 06:51 AM PDT Online gaming is gaining some priority these days with games like Assasins creed and Call fo duty 2 series being the most popular ones. One service which lets you play online is Gaikai. What is this Gaikai ? Gaikai is a revolutionary new technology that lets you play any game online in your browser. In the age of the cloud, when all your documents, email, photos and videos are instantly reachable online, it seems archaic that you still need to install gigabytes of game files on an high end gaming PC with an even more expensive video card. And even then you can only play from that specific computer! What Gaikai does is they host games and they stream them to you with Full resolution, full speed, stereo sound, low lag, no compromise. The only thing you need is a browser and an high speed internet connection.Me playing games on my 512Kpps connection in India would give me a decent amount of lag but those with high speed connections can game with ease. This makes use of Java along with Flash and Silverlight to stream games. With the recent discussion with Adobe and Apple that iPad wont be supporting flash someone seemingly found the way to run World of Warcraft on the iPad via Gaikai, as seen in the screenshot above. It would add more weight-age if we could get a video showing the same but alas ! If competitors to Gaikai like the OTOY or OnLive reach maturity then we could see more high intensive games on the iPad, What do you feel so ? Mobile version of Nvidia Geforce GTX 480M coming in June Posted: 03 May 2010 04:39 AM PDT Considering the desktop arena for gaming, Nvidia and Ati have a range of DirectX 11 based graphic cards namely the GTX 480 and the most powerful 5970.But when it comes to mobile segment not much gaming on laptops, although in the recent time laptops from Dell , MSi and Acer do come with Direct X 11 based cards like 5470, 5650.Custom PC maker Eurocom listed a number of its future machines as configurable with the so-called GeForce GTX 480M.It is obvious, and quite logical, that NVIDIA would make haste in unleashing its cards’ prowess on the mobile PC market, but the fact remains that the Santa Clara, California-based GPU maker has yet to make any official announcement on the matter. Eurocom doesn’t seem to mind, however, and has already added the GTX 480M as an option on the 18.4-inch Leopard and the 17-inch Cheetah and Panther desktop replacements. The listing, predictably, does not exactly spill the beans on the card’s specifications, but it does, at least, reveal an amount of GDDR5 memory of 2GB, an MXM 3.0b interface of 256 bits and a 100W number, which can be either the thermal design power (TDP) or the power requirements. It is interesting to note that the 15.6-inch Cougar has not been updated with these options, which may suggest that the discrete card has a fairly large printed circuit board that only makes it usable on notebooks of larger form factors. According to the listing, the laptops with NVIDIA DirectX 11 graphics should become available by June. This means that NVIDIA may show off its creation at Computex. In the meantime, end-users that want to make sure the 480M is not just some typo may see the configurations first-hand on Eurocom’s official website.
