Procedure to Backup iPad/iPhone 3GS SHSH Blobs on Windows – Spirit Jailbreak Posted: 06 May 2010 06:42 AM PDT Recently I had posted about jailbreak mechanism Spirit which was released for iDevices like iPhones, iPod touches and iPads running on 3.2, 3.1.3 & 3.1.2.But before you start trying out the jailbreak mechanism you must take care to see that you back up your SHSH blobs so that you can restore your device back to the firmware which you were there previously if anything messes up while jailbreaking with Spirit.Basically this is a safeguard against an accidental firmware upgrade. On newer devices like the 3Gs and the iPad Apple requires that your firmware be signed by their servers in order to restore your device. Let me give an example on why back up is so important.Suppose you have brought a brand new iPhone 3GS 16GB which might come with firmware 3.1.3 and you successfully jailbreak your device using the Spirit jailbreak. No issues here whatsoever. Now in few months iPhone 0S.4.0 would be released by Apple and lets assume there wasnt any jailbreak available then what are you gonna do now ? Well maybe you decide to downgrade back to 3.1.3 so you can regain jailbreak status. But all of a sudden you get a error in iTunes, that basically says your firmware isn't signed or you cannot downgrade. Well this is why you MUST backup your ECID SHSH. As i quoted above, newer iDevices(iPhone 3Gs, 3rd generation iPod Touch, and the both iPads.) need to have their firmwares signed by Apple and when Apple releases a new firmware they stop signing the old one for activation. These all would require firmware signing at this time.So how do you intend to backup your ECID SHSH? One such solution is Auto-SHSH Grabber by iH8sn0w which works on the iPad and iPhone 3GS. Steps to proceed to back up SHSH

Enable Dreamscene in Windows 7 – Windows 7 Dream scene activator Posted: 06 May 2010 03:49 AM PDT I have a dual boot scenario with Vista Ultimate and Windows 7 Ultimate in place but what i miss in Windows 7 is the absense of Dreamscenes. What this would do is let me choose a video as desktop background.I searched a lot if there was a app which would give me the ability to enable Dreamscene in Windows 7 but i couldn’t find such an app.Kishan Bagaria has created a small freeware portable app named ‘Windows 7 Dream scene activator’ which will allow you to activate DreamScene in Windows 7, 32-bit and 64-bit.
In case you get an unhandled exception error, simply click on Continue.
If you need some dream scenes, you can always search for them on the internet here and here. You can use any video, Windows format or dreamscene, as a desktop background. In Windows 7 you have to right click on a video and Set as desktop background. By right clicking on the desktop you can pause or play DreamScene! Download Windows 7 Dream scene activator Courtesy ThewindowsClub Start Slide Show with PicLens LiteRelated Posts : |
