Nokia sues Apple quotes iPad 3G infringes 5 patents Posted: 07 May 2010 01:45 PM PDT Looks like Apple and Nokia are having tough times these days.Espoo, Finland – Nokia announced that it has today filed a complaint against Apple with the Federal District Court in the Western District of Wisconsin (a so-called “rocket docket” that’s well-known for bringing patent cases to settlement or trial in just over a year), alleging that Apple iPhone and iPad 3G products infringe five important Nokia patents. This would be the second federal patent lawsuit by Nokia.The patents in question relate to technologies for enhanced speech and data transmission, using positioning data in applications and innovations in antenna configurations that improve performance and save space, allowing smaller and more compact devices. These patented innovations are important to Nokia’s success as they allow improved product performance and design. Paul Melin, General Manager, Patent Licensing at Nokia quotes Nokia has been the leading developer of many key technologies in mobile devices.We have taken this step to protect the results of our pioneering development and to put an end to continued unlawful use of Nokia’s innovation. If we go by count, Apple and Nokia now have some five pending legal actions between them, including one that’s been placed on hold pending an ITC decision. Adobe shows off Android tablet prototype running Air and Flash Posted: 07 May 2010 11:40 AM PDT In Web 2.0 Expo Adobe demonstrated Flash running on phones like the Nexus One and Palm Pre.In addition to this Adobe also has a prototype Android tablet according to Zedomax, runs Flash and Air apps “flawlessly.”Unfortunately, there doesn’t appear to be any details at all on the tablet itself, and judging from the looks of things, it is a prototype in the earlier stages.Nvidia also gave a update saying the flawless flash performance is all thanks to Tegra2 chip.Check out the statement made by Nvidia when informed to Engadget It is indeed Tegra 2. We worked closely with Adobe to show how next-gen Tegra can bring the complete web to tablets at Web 2.0. You can expect to start seeing Tegra 2 devices appearing this summer, with plenty on the way in the third and fourth quarters of the year.
