| Prices and specs of Mac Book pro with Intel Core i5 and Core i7 CPU Posted: 17 Apr 2010 06:09 AM PDT With surprisingly little fanfare and publicity, Apple has quietly upgraded the 15 and 17-inch Macbook Pro notebooks, giving them Intel Westmere-based CPUs (mobile Core i5 and Core i7), new nVidia GeForce 300M-series GPUs to bring them back up to speed with what the rest of the notebook market has to offer at present.MacBook Pro continues to be available in 3 models. While the smallest 13″ Macbook Pro sticks with the older Core 2 Duo CPU, it does receive a graphics upgrade in the form of the nVidia GeForce 320M & a slight speed bump to 2.4GHz (up from 2.26GHz) along with 4GB ram and 250gb hard drive and 2.66GHz (from 2.53GHz). Price remains the same as before on this model (from $1199 to 1499).Battery life has been improved to up to 10 hours when performing wireless web browsing.
The base model now retails for $1799 (up from $1699) with a 2.4GHz Core i5 CPU, nVidia GT330M graphics and a 320GB hard drive. The model being replaced had a 2.53GHz Core 2 Duo CPU, nVidia GeForce 9400M GPU and a 250GB hard drive. The next model up, retailing for $1999 sports a 2.53 GHz Core i5 CPU, nVidia GT330M graphics and a 500GB hard drive. Finally, the flagship 15-inch Macbook Pro gets a mobile Core i7 CPU at 2.66GHz, the same GT330M graphics as its cheaper siblings and a 500GB hard drive. This variant retails at $2199. The largest Macbook Pro,gets a 2.53GHz Core i5 CPU, nVidia GT330M graphics and a 500GB hard drive along with a whopping $2299 price tag.You might be wondering why a older core2duo on the 13″ ones.Below is the reply check out the image here and read more here.
