| OCZ unleashes Vertex 2 and Agility 2 SSD’s Posted: 12 Apr 2010 06:27 PM PDT SSD’S are the next gen technology that would be spreading soon into the geek era for storage of data.OCZ Technology Group, Inc a worldwide leader in innovative, ultra-high performance and high reliability memory and flash-based storage as an alternative to hard disk drives (HDDs) have unleashed 2 SSD’s namely Vertex 2 and Agility 2 which promise improved transfer rates and best-in-class input/output per second (IOPS).These are new enthusiast-class SSDs designed for consumers who are seeking unprecedented speed and reliability with the goal of enhancing both their daily computing experience and long-term productivity. Ryan Petersen, CEO of OCZ Technology Group quotes
Ranging from entertainment to workstation and tier 2 storage applications, OCZ is currently on fire with the best in firmware and hardware out there including the OCZ rams which are of low latency and highly overclockable.
The Vertex 2 excels in 4KB random writes up to 50,000 IOPS and features transfer rates up to 285MB/s read and 275MB/s write. For the value-conscious enthusiast, Agility 2 provides similar performance at a lower price point and delivers identical read/write rates and 4KB random writes up to 10,000 IOPS. Built with SATA 3Gb/s, the drives easily integrate into today's mobile and desktop platforms and feature TRIM support for Windows 7 systems. Available in 50GB, 100GB, 200GB, and 400GB capacities, Vertex 2 and Agility 2 will begin shipping in the next few weeks through OCZ's extensive global channel. Both series come backed by a three-year warranty. These are gonna give some tough competition to the Crucial 6 GBps and the ones from Seagate. So how many of you buying it ! Related Posts : |
| Palm up for sale – Bloomberg reports Posted: 12 Apr 2010 02:52 PM PDT Bloomberg just reported that Palm is putting itself up for sale and that offers will potentially come in this week. This comes as a shocker as Palm CEO Jon Rubinstein had plans of turning into profitable venture soon.Bloomberg says that Palm’s already retained Goldman Sachs and Qatalyst Partners to find a buyer, with many of them expressing interest like HTC and Lenovo and Dell’s apparently already taken a pass. Naturally none of these parties commented on this and Engadget seems not to get a reply from palm either.
There are quite a few number of companies caught up in the rumor mill who might be buying Palm.Let me give you a short intro. HTC : This could turn out to be a good deal as they battle it out against Apple by calling its own platform with killer hardware and sofware. RIM : Except the Blackberry which was been the enterprise favourite nothin much is known what they would come out in the near future.RIM brings the rabid user base, Palm brings the fresh ideas. So chances are less as far as i feel. Lenovo: One more strong contender for buying the Palm and to showcase its global smartphone presence.Lenovo is stuck here in 2010 without a shred of smartphone credibility outside its native China, and buying Palm would be an awfully quick way to jump-start that effort, which is probably why the company is allegedly sniffing around. These companies look promising and some more companies like Hp, Microsoft, Google, Apple,Nintendo, Dell, Motorola, Nokia and Sony may or may not buy the Palm.So whom are you guessing ? | Geohot shows off PS3 new custom firmware Posted: 12 Apr 2010 02:30 AM PDT Geohot the famous jailbreaking guru is still hot now coz he says he has just released a custom firmware for PS3.He says this firmware can be installed WITHOUT having to open up your PS3 and just by restoring a custom generated PUP file. It is also possible that this CFW may work on the PS3 slim too.I hope, it can play backups and it let me play pirate games and mkv files. That would be freaking awesome.Check out the video and quotes.
