iPhone OS 4.0 event on April 8th, comes in 3 flavours

Engadget gave some awesome info regarding the upcoming iPhone OS 4.0.Apple has announced an iPhone OS 4 event on April 8th at 10AM PT for a “sneak peek of the next generation of iPhone OS software”.so if your confused what might be new in 4.0 this is the time to find out and get updated.I feel a multi tasking would be possibility giving third-party apps the ability to run in the background — and Steve Jobs himself has confirmed that a unified inbox is coming to Apple Mail, so maybe that will be part of 4.0.

Better access to the iPhone’s filesystem might also be on the menu, so you can actually download files to your iPhone HD and use it for storage. We’ve also heard rumors about connecting your iPhone to an external display, and a stylus-based “handwriting keyboard.” Don’t think flash would be embedded but chances of HTML 5 are there. The event would be held at Apple’s Infinite Loop campus in Cupertino.

In addition to this PixelCUBE Studios, which currently holds the #1 spot on iTunes’ list of free iPhone app downloads with The Impossible Test, noticed something rather curious in its usage stats.PixelCUBE uses Pinch Media to get up analytics, and a quick check of the OS versions its users are running shows three distinct flavors of OS 4 viz. 4.0, 4.0.1, and 4.1.So this seems fishy ? Could this be true ?

Call of Duty 7 details revealed

Posted: 05 Apr 2010 01:40 PM PDT

Previously i had posted about the next sequel of Call of duty i.e Call of duty 7 to be released some where in the holiday season, more details have emerged thanks to Activision. The next version would be named as Call of duty 7 :Black Ops.Black Ops is scheduled for release in November 2010 and sources indicate the game will be developed by Treyarch and will be set in history, between World War II and present day. It’s also noted that some of the missions would take gamers to Cuba and South America which hints at a Cold War and Vietnam based game.

In true Modern Warfare style, gamers will reportedly get a chance to play as a member of the Special Air Service (SAS) the principle special forces unit of the British Army in which players will be involved in close combat during a mission in the Iranian embassy during the 1980's.This sound awesome. The game is also hinted to feature the popular "zombie mode" where players will get to gun down forces of zombies in which players get to shoot down hordes of zombies, a feature that could not be seen in the Infinity Ward produced Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

For South African PC gamers and worldwide PC gamers alike, CoD7 is set to feature dedicated servers. Gamers across the world should put their hands together for Activision who seem to be weeding out the problems with previous titles by re-adding dedicated servers to the franchise.

With a scheduled release date of November 2010 the game is still in full development. After Activision fired Vince Zampella and Jason West from Infinity Ward, it seems like they are taking yet another step back from the direction they had taken with Modern Warfare 2 by re-adding dedicated servers.Hoping this would be a DirectX 11 game, though no news of confirmation from Activision or Treyarch. This might give tough competition to Bad company 2. What do you feel ?
