| Nvidia’s First DirectX 11 based Cards Named GeForce GTX 480 and GTX 470 Posted: 12 Feb 2010 08:18 AM PST A tweet from on one of Nvidia’s Twitter accounts has revealed that the first two cards based on the GF100 GPU will be known as GeForce GTX 480 and GTX 470. Given that there are already 300 series desktop and mobile cards based on the current/previous generation of GPUs, for the first Fermi products Nvidia has went straight to the 400s, hopefully aiming to clear more potential confusion.
The GeForce GTX 480 and GTX 470 have not been detailed unfortunately so clocks, CUDA processor number, memory, that’s all a blur for now. What we do know is that both cards will support everything from DirectX 11 to OpenCL, OpenGL 3.x, CUDA, PhysX and will feature the 3D Vision Surround technology for 3-display 3D viewing. The cards should also boast dual DVI and HDMI outputs, be SLI-compatible, and take up two PCI slots. Nothing much is known at the present but i ll update once i more info on this.So finally Nvidia joined the competiton with ATI who have a range of DirectX 11 enabled cards.Whom do you think is a winner here  |
