Call of Duty 7 Confirmed for Holiday 2010

Posted: 17 Feb 2010 05:52 AM PST

The next sequel to Call of Duty series after the Modern Warfare 2 and World at War i.e  unamed Call of duty 7 would be released some where in Holiday season 2010 may be by November. You wont be in shocked as you might be loving Call of duty Modern warfare 2 till now but once the next thing would be released you would definetely love this and want to get hands on this one. However, that’s neither here nor there as it’s 2010 holiday release has been confirmed yesterday by Activision CEO Bobby Kotick. He said that they will continue to release an annual installment of the Call of Duty franchise, but did not announce the developer. Due to what Infinity Ward had said about wanting to work on a new title, in combination with Treyarch’s David Kim’s LinkedIn profile, we can safely assume that Treyarch is the developer holding the reins here. It’s coming to Xbox 360 , PS3 and probably PC too in 2010.

Another interesting bit from Kotick was that the company intends to take the CoD franchise in the direction of subscriptions, saying:

If you think about the success we have had in other categories on subscriptions, you can get a sense of the direction we want to take the franchise.

Now i don’t know how this will work and what’s the strategy but this would be something interesting in the far run. What do you feel ?
