Windows Mobile News conference scheduled for Feb 15th Posted: 22 Jan 2010 09:10 PM PST Nick Eaton of SeattlePi has just let us know that Windows Mobile News Conference would be held on Feb 15th from the Mobile World Congress in Plaza Espana(Catalonia Barcelona Plaza Hotel) 6-8 Barcelona, Spain. It would be scheduled at 6 A.M Pacific time.News is that this conference would showcase more on Windows Mobile 7 and also the Zune phone or at the CTIA expo in March.More speculation has surrounded around whether WinMo7 will be based off of Silverlight instead of Windows Embedded. Azita Arvani, mobile analyst for her L.A.-based firm Arvani Group, quotes
Another rumor is also that Windows Mobile 7 would come in two versions: one for consumers and one for businesses. Yet another rumor is that WinMo7 applications won’t be backward-compatible, so Windows Mobile 6.x apps won’t be able to run on it.There may be two sets of feature specifications, one for the more entertainment-minded consumer and one for the more productivity-geared business. And Microsoft would be crazy to leave behind the relatively small collection of Windows Mobile apps it has frantically tried to build up.Lets hope we get things clear soon. |
Zune phone in the process coming in 2 months Posted: 22 Jan 2010 08:43 PM PST In a competition to beat its competitor Google’s Nexus one, Redmond Giant plans to launch a Zune phone in an around 2 months.Reports from Gizmodo, Jefferies analyst Katherine Egbert quotes that
Egbert believes that the Zune Phone will be getting a new beginning as from a Microsoft/OEM partnership similar to what we’ve seen between Google and HTC with the Nexus One. She also believes the phone will feature a 5MP camera and 720P video support—neither of which are huge stretches of the imagination.Lets hope after Pink Microsoft gets this right and makes a success. Palm Pre Plus and Palm pre – Performance video Posted: 22 Jan 2010 06:53 AM PST This video gives a comparison of Palm pre plus running on Verizon and Palm pre on Sprint.Palm pre plus has more storage memory and ram so that you can run apps.If you see the reviewer opens up NFS undercover and Palm pre loads up much faster than the latter palm pre. Both games are paused and tested for multi-tasking and both are running on wifi.As more and more apps are opened in Palm pre it comes up with a error of too many cards(13 apps concurrent) while Palm pre plus could open 50 apps at once with no errors. This is a multi tasking monster out there running 50 apps in one shot. Click here to view the embedded video. Palm still hasn’t been able to fix the battery life issue. In engadget’s review, it was stated that after a 50 minute call, battery life dipped from 67% to 24%.Check out the video in case you wanna buy this beauty. Love to hear your comments.
