| Palm Pre Plus and Pixi Plus to be aviailable for Verizon this month Posted: 09 Jan 2010 05:43 AM PST If you remember last year at the CES, Palm had introduced the Pre exclusively on Sprint network and this time Palm unveiled two new devices for Verizon Wireless. The Palm Pre Plus and Pixi Plus will be available to Verizon subscribers Jan. 25.  Palm CEO Jon Rubinstein announces two new smart phones for Verizon The new Pre has 16 gigabytes, simplified navigation and an inductive back cover for easier use of Palm’s Touchstone charging station. The new Pixi has Wi-Fi built in and more back cover color choices.The Verizon phones will be able to serve as mobile hot spots for up to five Wi-Fi-enabled devices. Both will come loaded with VZ Navigator, which provides audible turn-by-turn directions.Not much info on the pricing front though.  AT&T is also in the process of developing two webOS phones to launch in the first half of the year, Palm didn’t comment on that.Palm also unveiled 3-D gaming, the advent of Flash and video recording, editing and sharing for Pre and Pixi. Among the titles available in the U.S. are the one’s from EA. |
| Dell to launch Android Phone in the US with AT&T Posted: 08 Jan 2010 10:10 AM PST AT&T has announced that it would be the exclusive carrier for Dell's first smartphone to be launched in U.S. The phone is apparently called the Mini 3, which was selling only in Brazil and China since last year. AT&T would be finally be joining the Android arena.  The release date, specs and pricing info was not announced, but the specs on the device would be similar to those on the existing Mini 3, which features a 3.5-inch display with 640×360 screen resolution, 3-megapixel auto-focus camera with flash, Bluetooth, GPS and a microSD storage slot. Along with the Dell Mini 3, it also has plans to launch at least four more Android phones in 2010, one made by Motorola and three to be manufactured by HTC.That puts an Android lineup on all the major carriers in the States.Google’s platform continues to boom. |
| Natal comes to Xbox 360 in December 2010 Posted: 08 Jan 2010 06:06 AM PST Microsoft announced that it would start shipping its Natal gesture and voice controller for the Xbox 360 game console in time for the Christmas holiday shopping season.Natal, named after a Brazilian city, lets players yell, jump, kick or wave their arms to control what happens in a video game, using a series of motion detectors, a camera and a microphone to capture what players are doing.  The technology giant demonstrated Natal last June in Los Angeles, but it did not say when it would start selling the add-on device.Natal will work only with Xbox 360 consoles, not the original Xbox. Microsoft said it has sold more than 39 million Xbox 360s worldwide. Its Xbox Live online service, which can be accessed from consoles connected to the Internet, has drawn more than 20 million players, half of whom have tried out non gaming content offered on Xbox Live, including TV shows and movies, as well as Facebook and Twitter feeds. In his keynote speech, Robbie Bach, president of Microsoft’s entertainment and devices division, said sales of consoles, games, peripherals and downloads from Xbox Live generated $20 billion for Microsoft and other companies since the company launched its first Xbox in November 2001.Lets wait and watch how will that be ! |
