iPhone 4G scheduled for July 4th launch

Posted: 12 Jan 2010 02:19 AM PST

Geeksmack reports a reader who claims he has used the iPhone 4G has sent them a tip with information on the device. He stated that Apple is "talking about" launching the iPhone 4G on or around (meaning in the same week/generally close to) July 4th, 2010 which coincides with the WWDC conference and this is the iPhone 4G.According to the news from Apple Insider, Apple had ordered large amount of LED camera flash components for the coming 2010 year. They also stated that Philips LEXEON LED flash technology may have already got the contract for iPhone 4G,which might be released by June-July month. This also seems valid with what GeekSmack reports the date to be.
Well i would say this would be the correct time to launch 5MP camera for the next gen iphone as competitors Nexus , Droid and HD2 come with a 5MP cam. Those in the plans of buying the iPhone postpone their plans till July and go for the iPhone 4G.Previously DigiTimes had stated, Apple had contacted OmniVision regarding 5 megapixel CMOS image sensor (CIS) orders for the iPhone 4G model. The order, which was placed was for around 45 million CMOS sensors.OmniVision is the same company which supplied the 3.2 megapixel CIS for Apple's iPhone 3GS.Even Foxconn had received orders for suppling components for iPhone 4G.
There are chances of iPhone 4G to be supporting 802.11n WiFi standard.According to a job posting, the iPhone team at Apple is looking out for a software engineer with expertise in WiFi a/b/g/n and related specifications.Nexus and HD2 come with support for WiFi and with iPhone 4G superior technology it would be more prominent. Why is this WiFi so important coz 802.11n WiFi is a much fast and more signal strength compared to the older versions in the current phones. This is what he had known, now the reader who had informed Geeksmack posted some more features of the iPhone 4G.
  • Thinner and lighter aesthetically – iPhone 4G is apparently thinner and lighter than the 3GS.
  • Improved battery life – Something people may not like about their iPhones is the battery life there's definitely room for improvement there. The tipster noted that the 4G has a battery life of 14 to 16 hours on both talk and Internet—which is definitely something to look forward to.
  • Zoom in/out on photo/video camera – The tipster said that there was the ability to zoom in and out on both the picture camera and the video camera, but it was a little "weird". He also noted that there was LED Flash with the camera as stated above, and seeing that one of the iPhone's quirks was taking photos in low-light conditions, the introduction of LED Flash will result in much better iPhone photos.
  • More accurate GPS and the introduction of the "breadcrumbs" feature – The tipster noted that, in the 4G, the GPS was far more accurate. While the 3GS' GPS was accurate to around 50 to 100 feet, the 4G's GPS was accurate within 5 feet. In the GPS, there is also a new feature called "breadcrumbs". It's a way to trace your path so without the GPS you can find your way back, or so you can know a certain route you like to take. This feature leaves little dots on the road in a similar fashion to the breadcrumbs left by Hansel and Gretel to find their way back.
  • Improved antenna – Finally, the tipster noted that they improved the antenna in the 4G, resulting in better reception and fewer dropped calls. With iPhone 3GS in one hand and 4G in the other, the 3GS had only 2 bars while the 4G had 5. Also, the 4G that he used was on the AT&T network. This also counts on the WiFi enhancement.

The aforementioned improvements are certainly interesting, and hopefully Apple will come out with iPhone 4G at the earliest.I am far eager for it.What do you feel.Love to hear from you.
