Battlefield Bad Company 2 Multiplayer Games Posted: 09 Jan 2010 05:35 PM PST Some time ago I had the chance to try Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Eurogamer Expo 2009, when we were not allowed to take photos or record video, but a teaser trailer was shown on Joystiq showing off its multiplayermode. The trailer was built at the end of this post, and I think you will agree that it looks extremely impressive with its high-paced and tactical action. Personally, I think the game will change everything Nice from the relatively close combat which is offered in Modern Warfare 2. [via product-reviews] a |
Buffalo LinkStation Duo NAS Devices Posted: 09 Jan 2010 05:35 PM PST Buffalo has been in business to make NAS devices have long now and it has produced excellent examples – an original TeraStation served as repository of digital storage “for several years. This model is especially acute as an upgrade to the LinkStation Pro Duo and despite the abandonment “Pro” from its name should show the device quality. For a device that is never likely to be a centerpiece of your Home Computing Duo LinkStation seems quite attractive. Its compact dimensions of 86mm x 204mm x 127mm should help hide off the track if you wish. Over the Duo is not intrusive strong unlike some NAS devices, I had the (dis) pleasure of testing. As the name reveals, the LinkStation Duo is a two Bay NAS device available in two configurations of 1TB, 2TB or 4TB equipped with two 500GB drives, two drives 1TB or 2TB two disks respectively. These can be configured in either RAID 1 or RAID 0, or with each player showing separately the first of what is obviously safer. Both drives are accessible by popping off the front, revealing two bays quick exit. As such, it is the work of a moment to pop an old drive and place it in another. There is no facility to upgrade the storage capacity of the duo in place, but this is hardly a major criticism, just be sure to choose the players right initially. [via trustedreviews] a |

Acer H7530D DLP Upward Trend Projector Posted: 09 Jan 2010 02:06 AM PST With the H1085 Vivitek recently set a new standard for £ 1,000 or less market for DLP projectors, it is fair to say the H7530D comes at a delicate moment. But then with just about every new projector that we see in this sector outgunning the latter, maybe he will be able to continue the upward trend. First impressions are somewhat mixed. The design of H7530D, for example, is fairly low on the sculpture grows, but trying valiantly to make himself look cute by applying a glossy finish and a surprisingly large logo Acer edges that illuminate in blue neon light when the projector is on. To be honest, this kind of design does not meet the cinephile in me with great hope about the seriousness of the ambitions of cinema, H7530D home. The emphasis seems to be (shudder!) Family Fun instead. But hey – maybe I am wrong. Or perhaps the projector to force me to leave my hair and just having a laugh for once instead of taking this thing so seriously all the screening! My willingness to try and optimism about H7530D rather tumble, however, when I see one HDMI row among its thin connections. The two aforementioned Vivitek H1085 and £ 1000 BenQ W1000 able to provide two HDMIs, leaving H7530D standing out like a sore thumb. [via trustedreviews] a |
