Posted: 29 Dec 2009 10:35 AM PST Chrome OS has been seen a number of times since it was officially unveiled recently. Some ways were quickly found, and who has helped launch Chome on Netbook OS by booting from a USB flash drive and create a virtual machine to run an image. Shortly after being able to run code on a virtual machine or a flash drive Then we learned that Google Chrome netbook would be launched. At the time of writing not much was known about the chrome netbook OS other than speculation Google opting for an ARM processor instead of Intel Atom. The information was revealed by IBTimes (unofficial) which says that the Chrome Netbook get an ARM processor and the NVIDIA Tegra. The screen measures 10.1 inches and support multi-touch. For storage of a 64GB SSD will be used and the device will have all the usual options such as USB, Webcam, WiFi with 3G connectivity. 2 GB of RAM will also be found in the netbook. Speculation says that the price will be under $ 300 with perhaps a model of shipping around the $ 200 mark. Some prices may be subsidized by 3G carriers. [via gadgetvenue] a |
eBooks Outsell Books First Time Physical Books Posted: 29 Dec 2009 06:15 AM PST Remarkably, the reports of the Amazon Kindle has become the most gifted of its history. In addition – and potentially far more significant on Christmas Day for the first time she claims eBooks customers bought more than physical books. First, the swing eBook is much more important than the sale of any electronic book reader individually. Second, given such a boast is surprising Amazon chose not to publish its figures for eBook sales on Christmas Day. Thirdly, it is said that possesses a number of caveats. More specifically, Christmas Day is not a day the average person would buy books. There is no job for a number of days, you’re busy with family, you just give new books. However, if you’ve got a Kindle, the first thing you would do is try and download a book or two to the test – there is virtually no waiting time. Thus, while sales of books would be abnormally low so far, sales of electronic books should be abnormally high. [via trustedreviews] a |
T-Mobile G1 Android 2.0 or 2.0.1 Phone Posted: 29 Dec 2009 03:23 AM PST Those of you with a T-Mobile G1 could get OTA (Over The Air) update very quickly taking Android on your phone to version 2.0 or perhaps 2.0.1. Updating Android Eclair brings a number of feature for Android phones. What do we hope for is T-Mobile launches Android 2.1, which we have seen recently on the interfaces between One. One thing to remember though is that these are still rumors and may or may not be true. In this spirit, we will update the post when rumors are confirmed or otherwise. [via gadgetvenue] a |
LG 47LH3000 47 Inch Extreme LCD TV Posted: 29 Dec 2009 12:15 AM PST Needless to say that not everyone will love the design, especially if they try to get the biggest screen they can in a limited space. But for me, definitely that. And it fits well in theory my dear old nan, that to get what you pay for should be at least as much to do with quantity than quality! Speaking of getting what you pay, it is obvious to me to have opened the discussion by saying what a windfall 47LH3000 is, I have not really shown its pricing yet. So here goes: we have found in Richer Sounds store for pennies under £ 600. Crazy. In fact, it’s so crazy, as I took delivery of the TV, I could not help but fear the worst as regards the capacity of 47LH3000’s. Surely even budget maestro LG could not deliver a real quality to this kind of price level? Turning my attention to brazen the whole back, but I was pleasantly surprised to find a game really solid connections. The three HDMIs, for example, should be comfortable enough to meet the requirements of HD digital buyer type of TV budget, while a PC port is handy for people who want 47LH3000 to double as PC monitor. It’s a shame, I suppose, there is no multimedia installations beyond the PC socket. The USB port is provided for upgrades of in-service support, rather than let you play your photos and music files into the TV. But instead of whining about this, I’ll just refer you again to the price of 47LH3000, and pass quickly. [via trustedreviews] a |
