Olympus PEN E-P2 System Digital Camera

Posted: 16 Dec 2009 09:32 AM PST

Last summer, Olympus launched its first system Micro Four-camera function, PEN E-P1. Referring to the rich history of Olympus, the E-P1 received a true retro design. Daring indeed, and he soon turned the camera system consists of a combination of striking design, making the establishment of the new system, an immediate success. Micro Four Thirds is in many respects the system that the photo-graphs were really expect. Combining the convenience of a compact and quality of a DSLR, the system was intended to be a real success.

It is more than obvious that the Olympus E-PEN P2 and P1 have much in common, put both units side by side, and you really have to look for differences. It’s the little things that need to differentiate and to be honest, most differences are found inside the aircraft. Olympus used the feedback from photographers and cameras in general all over the world for the P2. This feedback from some of the photographers asked housing darker or black as it happened. Consequently, P2 is now also available in black.

As for the operation of the Olympus PEN P2, we have not seen a whole lot of difference compared to P1. In this regard, surprisingly little for the tester. Like a digital SLR standard, you can simply change the lens, and offers Four Thirds lenses continues to grow. In 2010, we expect to see a number of new, interesting, not only of Olympus, but also from Panasonic. I can only imagine things will stop there. What remains an enjoyable experience, dealing with a compact camera system. What difference does compared to a heavy (semi-) pro DSLR! [via letsgodigital]

Nokia N900 Operating System Internet Tablet Phone

Posted: 16 Dec 2009 06:15 AM PST

Nokia Series 60 operating system has been around since 2001, so it’s perhaps not so surprising that when you place a series 60 handset next to an iPhone or an Android phone operating system is a little tired. Perhaps that is why Nokia decided to use an operating system completely different on the N900, the latest internet tablet / mobile phone hybrid.

Nokia N900

Instead of the 60 series, he has opted for its OS Maemo latest, which is based on Debian Linux. This is not the first time it is used on Maemo one of its devices – the operating system previously made appearances on the N770, N800 and N810 Internet Tablet but this is the first time he has been used on a device with mobile phone functionality.

In terms of look, the N900 is certainly not the most attractive phone that Nokia has produced. The design is heavy and brutal, which is underlined by the fact that it is twice as thick as most other touchscreen phones on the market right now (it measures 59.8 (W) x 110.9 (H ) x 19.5mm (D) and weighs 181g with battery). Canon PIXMA iP4700 Smaller Inkjet All In One Printer

Posted: 16 Dec 2009 12:05 AM PST

The PIXMA IP4700 is a little smaller than MP and MX range of Canon all-in-one, but still could not be characterized as low. With its high gloss black top, sides and front panels, is quick to take fingerprints, but it is always wise for that.

Canon PIXMA iP4700 Inkjet Printer

It has several design elements of its all-in-one brothers and sisters, including dual paper tray. One aspect to the rear of the top cover is folded and extends to become a 150-sheet rear tray and there is a 150-sheet cassette, which slides underneath the machine, too, although it still covers the ‘front of the machine. Canon recommends that you load the photo paper into the rear tray and plain paper in the cassette, but the rear tray is taking.

The front panel of the machine folds down and extends to become the output bin and there is an internal flip cover that opens to reveal a slot to insert the CD / DVD carrier, as the machine can print directly on disks coated properly.

The controls and indicators are minimal, with a power button and ignite the highly curved right-hand front corner. There is a power button and indicator directly below, but it’s for a physical inspection. There are no slots for memory cards, which is a shame on a machine that is good for photos, but there is a PictBridge-making. At the rear is a single USB socket, the only data connection from computer to printer PIXMA IP4700. [via trustedreviews]
