Apple has announced the launch of its new wireless Magic Mouse, which the company claims as the world's first mouse to utilize Multi-Touch technology, featuring a seamless touch-sensitive enclosure that allows it to be a single or multi-button mouse thanks to the advanced gesture support, allowing left or right handed users to scroll in any direction and to pan a full 360 degrees by simply touching anywhere on the smooth, seamless top shell.
This also incorporates powerful laser tracking engine that's far more sensitive and responsive on more surfaces than traditional optical tracking engines. Wordpress 2.8.5 out

Posted: 21 Oct 2009 09:16 AM PDT

I was wondering the next release version of Wordpress would be 2.9 but one more update to 2.8 i.e 2.8.5 has be released. This would be termed as a security hardening update to the DOS attacks which were frequent few months back.According to the official Wordpress Blog this is not an urgent upgrade, but it has the goal of hardening your install, so upgrading is recommended.

Some of it’s features are

  • A fix for the Trackback Denial-of-Service attack that is currently being seen.
  • Removal of areas within the code where php code in variables was evaluated.
  • Switched the file upload functionality to be whitelisted for all users including Admins.
  • Retiring of the two importers of Tag data from old plugins.

Wordpress recommends that all sites to be upgraded to this new version of WordPress to ensure that you have the best available protection. So go update now.If you think your site may have been hit by one of the recent exploits and you would like to make sure that you have cleared out all traces of the exploit then we would recommend that you take a look at the WordPress Exploit Scanner.
