Posted: 15 Oct 2009 05:14 AM PDT

iPhone Dev-Team has updated its PwnageTool for Mac so that you can jailbreak your latest iphone 3.1.2 firmware.Pwnage tool can be used to jailbreak the original iPhone (Edge), iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS and iPod touch (1G and 2G) running on iPhone firmware 3.1.2. The custom .ipsw firmware files created with PwnageTool can update iPhone to firmware 3.1.2 without updating its baseband so that it can be unlocked to run on any carrier SIM. Also added is the support for jailbreaking iPhone 3GS which are already updated to firmware 3.1.x (including 3.1.2), either out of the box, or directly from iTunes.

IpodTouch 3G is curently not supported but you can refer the tutorial here.If you want your Iphone 3GS to be jailbreaked then take a look at some of the procedures you can achieve that.If you don't care about the unlock and just want to jailbreak your iPhone on 3.1.2, then you canjailbreak using Blackra1n.PwnageTool 3.1.4 is for MAC only so Windows users check out Taimur’s post on how to jailbreak and unlock iPhone running with firmware 3.1.2.
Steps to jailbreak iphone 3.1.2 firmware using Pwnage tool 3.1.4
Having Itunes ss the first step to start jailbreaking iphones.Once you have that backup/sync your iPhone with PC so that you can store all settings apps and music first.
Download PwnageTool 3.1.4 and the original iPhone OS 3.1.2 for your version of iPhone and select your device(iphone, ipod touch or 3GS) once you start Pwnage Tool 3.1.4.
Once the current firmware is displayed you would get a screen asking for “Do you have an iPhone contract that would activate normally through iTunes?" Click No and proceed.
Clicking on "Yes" will update your baseband to the latest version which will make your device almost impossible to unlock. Click on "Yes" only if you are on an officially supported carrier like AT&T.
PwnageTool will now create the custom .ipsw file for your iPhone which would be jailbroken.
Next step would be to restore your iPhone to this custom firmware 3.1.2 that you just cooked using PwnageTool 3.1.4 for your iPhone. Click on your phone from the sidebar in iTunes.
Now press and hold left "alt" button ("Shift" button on Windows) on the keyboard and then click on "Restore" (Not "Update" or "Check for Update") button in the iTunes and then release the "Shift" button.
This will make iTunes prompt you to select the location for your downloaded custom firmware 3.1.2. Select that custom .ipsw file and click on "Open".
Just wait while iTunes installs the new firmware 3.1.2 on your iPhone. Your iPhone screen at this point will be showing a progress bar indicating installation progress. After the installation is done, iPhone will restart automatically and you should now have a fully jailbroken iPhone 3GS running on firmware 3.1.2.
Once this will be done you can proceed towards unlocking the iphone using ultrasn0w guide what i had posted.
Last but not the least once your done with jailbreaking and unlock then restore the backup file which you had backed up at the start to restore all the settings apps music contacts etc.Thats it enjoy.

Not every one were allowed to try this out as only 1,00,000 invitations were available and one’s who had a invitation could pass them on to a max of 8 people. So what is this Google Wave ? Google Wave is an online tool for real-time communication and collaboration. A wave can be both a conversation and a document where people can discuss and work together using richly formatted text, photos, videos, maps, and more.

Some of it’s key technologies include Real time collaboration, building apps and extensions, open source wiki functionality, making use of natural language tools along with drag and drop file sharing and also embedding waves to other sites as social gadgets. It combines aspects of email, instant messaging, wikis, web chat, social networking, and project management to build one elegant, in-browser communication client. You can bring a group of friends or business partners together to discuss how your day has been or share files.Check out Google wave site and also Mashable guide(mashable.com/2009/05/28/google-wave-guide/)  for more info on it(wave.google.com/help/wave/about.html)

Now in case you wish to try this out you can always request for invitation and in case your lucky you can get this too.Google Wave probably isn’t part of your day-to-day routine but it might help to know when new waves are waiting for you. Google Wave Notifier does exactly that, checking for unread wave messages on an interval you prefer.Chad Smith, author of the similarly helpful Google Voice Notifier, patched together this 0.0.1 Firefox extension from a rewrite of his Voice add-on.

Smith’s Google Wave Add-On (as it’s technically, generically titled) does exactly what it promises, though—stores your login credentials, checks for messages every X minutes, as you specify, and puts a number in your status bar if you’ve got unread waves. You can jump to Google Wave from a right-click—though it probably should take you there with just a single, standard click. So if your are interested and excited do try this out if you can get a invitation.
