In these financially stressful times value is paramount, so we asked some manufacturers to send us budget-friendly PC game. Coming in just under 600 pounds for a machine Core i5, i5 CyberPower Infinity Hercules certainly lives up to the part of the budget (and is indeed also one of the game systems lighter than we’ve reviewed ), so we will see how it holds up in any other respect.

CyberPower Infinity i5 Hercules SE Gaming PC

CyberPower is left with a mini-Cooler Master case, specifically the Elite 310, which - contrary to what its name suggests - is located near the bottom of the Cooler Master range. His body is solid steel with a job lasting matte black paint, but the front is glossy black plastic, if fingerprints, dust and scratches can quickly affect the look attractive enough. This look is enhanced by a pearly blue tape circulating on the front with drive and power blue LED on the front and lit from within by blue LEDs courtesy of CyberPower.

The 310 provides four 5.25in drive bays, one of which is filled by the LG 22x DVD-recorder. The optical drive is remarkable only in that it is an EIDE model, which is something of an unwelcome rarity nowadays. However, beyond the aesthetic into the case and possible compatibility problems with future motherboards which contain only SATA ports (as many already do), there is no objection to this practice.

Below the case is 5.25in bays 3.5 “one person, while a second ‘fake’ 3.5IN group holds power curves nicely and reset buttons. Two USB ports, and silver helmet and microphone jacks are located near the base of 310. It is not a particularly practical, however, and the only scenario where they are still usable is if you put the case on your desk. [via trustedreviews]

Teufel Concept B 200 Connects Via USB Speakers

Posted: 22 Oct 2009 03:30 AM PDT

The key concept of the B 200 USB trick part is in the name. Rather than connecting the audio output of your PC, B Concept comes with a dedicated amplifier, the 200 CB CS checkpoint that connects via USB. The advantage is obvious: bypassing your PC integrated (read: waste), the sound card. There are two reasons why you might want to do this. One, the digital-analog in the decoding unit Ampere Teufel will almost certainly be better than your PC can provide, and two, amplifying an audio signal which has itself been amplified ( as a “normal set” of speakers) that will never degrade a matter which set-up Teufel avoids.

Teufel Concept B 200 USB Speakers

Simply pick up the unit heavy AMP reassuring to get an idea of audio quality, it should exit. Power is also called directly by the sector through a cauldron of lead which suggests that some major components are at work inside (which toroidal transformer is very nice). And if that does not sell, the aluminum and anodized black glossy black plastic front fascia look good, even if they get significantly hot in use.

Teufel made the interesting choice to have the unit Ampere doubles as a USB hub. Two USB ports sit at the back of the amp next to the connector ‘B’ type A that goes to your PC. The rear also includes stereo phono, input 3.5 mm jack, connectors speaker left and right and switch “good” power, because when the sleep mode just does not cut it.

At the front, you will find the waiting list and the source select buttons, headphone and microphone jack and one USB port. Three buttons control bass, treble and volume adorn the right and all have a nice smooth action for fine tuning a breeze. Good luck pushing the volume to over one third of its full range without the need of new ears, though. [via trustedreviews]
