Posted: 11 Oct 2009 05:22 AM PDT Artist Li Wei's work is a mixture of performance art and photography that creates illusions of an unusual interesting reality. His favorite works are the 'Mirror' and the 'Falls' series; the 'Falls' series shows the artist with his head and the upper body embedded into the ground. According to the artist these images are not computer montages, these works are created with the help of props such as mirror, metal wires, scaffolding and acrobatics. Using a large mirror with a hole in the center large enough to accommodate his head and neck, he places his head through the hole and "projects" his image onto various historical and urban places.
