| Download Pwnage tool to unlock/jailbreak Iphone 3.1 firmware Posted: 16 Sep 2009 02:51 PM PDT After the release of Iphone 3.1 firmware,Iphone 3G S users were eager to update to the latest firmware and there were in a situation that they couldn’t jailbreak once they had upgraded to 3.1 firmware from the 3.0 firmware.What to do now ? Vinay had posted a method how to downgrade Iphone 3G S to older 3.0 firmware.Iphone users had to wait so that iphone dev team releases a patch on how to allow it to jailbreak.
Finally the iPhone Dev Team has announced its first jailbreak for devices running iPhone OS 3.1. The latest version of PwnageTool 3.1 can successfully jailbreak an iPhone, iPhone 3G, or first-gen iPod touch running the latest mobile OS from Apple. However, it will not work for the iPhone 3GS or newer iPod touch models. The Dev Team warns that iPhone OS 3.1 includes an update for the iPhone’s baseband—essentially the system that connects with the cellular network for phone calls and data. Combined with differences in hardware and how updates are applied to its baseband, PwnageTool 3.1 will not work on an iPhone 3GS. Furthermore, an iPhone 3G that is unlocked to work on carriers other than the “official” ones will still need ultrasn0w to update without breaking. An iPhone 3G that is factory unlocked or isn’t unlocked can be jailbroken with PwnageTool without issue. Currently only MAC OS X users can jailbreak using Pwnage Tool. Older, second-gen hardware can use redsn0w with 3.0.1 or earlier firmware, but not with 3.1. The team has an update for redsn0w in the works but you will have to wait for a release soon. According to Google, the performance of the browser’s V8 JavaScript engine has increased by over 150 percent since the original version of Chrome was released. Thanks to Google’s aggressive performance optimizations, V8 has zoomed past Mozilla’s Trace Monkey JavaScript engine.It was real fast for me.The new theme system allows users to customize the browser’s look and feel. A number of new styles are available for users to install from the Chrome theme gallery. The new start page allows users to pin or remove the recent page thumbnails. Chrome 3 also shines in the area of emerging standards as it brings support for several key HTML5 features such as the Video element.
