Recently i had posted about Windows Phones to be out By October 6,now a build 23041 has been out in the wild.No surprises this time like Windows 7, leaks also seem to be hovering with Windows Mobile too.A new Windows Mobile build 23041 has been leaked into the wild courtesy PhamQuang of HTCPedia.com.This new leaked build was compiled on 30th August 2009.Some of the changes include buttons at bottom shapes are changed as compared to the 23937 Build,iphone type slide out unlock button,speedy and bug fixes.

Unlike the 23037 Build, which can be updated by cooking the ROM for Windows Phone capable of running Windows Mobile 6.5, this version doesn’t work that way as Windows Mobile 6.5 Build 23041 is time bombed. You must use patched shell32.exe

Windows Phones to launch on October 6th

Microsoft has confirmed the schedule of Windows Mobile 6.5 devices for October 6th.Microsoft re branded Windows Mobile to Windows Phone earlier this year at the Mobile World Congress.The Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system promises a more easy-to-use user interface, better browsing capabilities and access to cloud services, including Windows Marketplace for Mobile and Microsoft My Phone.

Stephanie Ferguson, general manager, Business Experiences Team, in the Mobile Communications Business at Microsoft quotes in a blog posting:

On Oct. 6th, you’ll see new Windows phones designed for a variety of tastes, needs and price points – with or without keyboards, with or without touch screens, as well as your choice of GPS, accelerometer and high resolution camera.

Microsoft’s partners worldwide are planning to release new Windows Phones running the Windows Mobile 6.5 OS

  • In North America: Mobile operators AT&T, Bell Mobility, Sprint, TELUS and Verizon Wireless, and phone manufacturers HP, HTC Corp., LG Electronics, Samsung and Toshiba Corp.
  • In Europe: Mobile operators Orange, Deutsche Telekom AG and Vodafone Group Plc, and phone manufacturers Acer, HTC, LG Electronics, Samsung, Sony Ericsson and Toshiba
  • In Latin America: Mobile operator TIM Brazil, and phone manufacturers HTC, LG Electronics and Samsung.
  • In Asia Pacific: Mobile operators NTT DOCOMO Inc., SOFTBANK Mobile Corp., SK Telecom, Telstra and WILLCOM Inc., and phone manufacturers Acer Inc., HTC, LG Electronics, Samsung, Sony Ericsson and Toshiba.

According to sources who are familiar with Microsoft’s plans, expect to see Windows Mobile 7 at Microsoft’s Professional Developers Conference later this year.Are you eager to get these.Pour your comments.

Download Windows 7 Enterprise 90-day Limited Evaluation Version

Sad that you were not able to get a copy of Windows 7 RTM 7600 Build eh ?, Don’t you worry.Microsoft has made Windows 7 Enterprise available for free download with an evaluation period of 90 days for IT Professionals.It’s available in both 32 and 64 bit editions and comes in 5 languages(English, French, German, Japanese,and Spanish).

This evaluation period is for IT Professionals who do not have access to Windows 7 RTM through Software Assurance Volume License agreement,MSDN and TechNet subscriptions,Software Assurance agreement allowing the download of Windows 7 RTM via the Volume Licensing Download Center.

This gives companies/businesses a chance to make their apps compatible until Windows 7 arrives on October 22nd.You don’t need to add a product key as the key comes embedded with the download.The download will be available through March 31, 2010,while supplies last.

Some key points you would need to take care of:

  • Once downloaded you would need to activate it within 10 days else system shut down’s every hour.
  • Trial will shut down every hour when you have reached the end of 90 day evaluation period.
  • Limited licenses available so download asap.
  • Following the 90 day evaluation period, IT Pros who wish to continue to use Windows 7 Enterprise will be required to purchase and perform a clean installation of Windows 7, including drivers and applications.
