Delete Folder Contents in Vista/Windows 7-Registry hack Posted: 28 Jul 2009 03:31 PM PDT Many cases you might get a situation where you would need to delete the folder contents,in which case what you would do is u go to the desired folder and then select all files by ctrl+a and then delete. If your kind messed up work and find it messy then here is a registry tweak to add delete folder contents to the right click context menu.Let me tel you how you can achieve it. Firstly hit up Regedit from the Run command via the start menu and navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell Next Right-click on shell, create a new Key and name it Delete Folder Contents(you can name it whatever you feel like)
In the right pane, double-click on (Default) string value and type cmd /c “cd /d %1 && del /s /q *.* in the value data field and hit OK Close Regedit and check the folder by right clicking and you will find Delete folder contents option. If you find this tough there is a readymade script which does this and can be downloaded from here.Just click on it and add it to the registry.Tryed it on both Vista and Windows 7 works great.
