Windows 7 Build 7600 16385 RTM branch leaks

Posted: 16 Jul 2009 05:09 PM PDT

You have noticed the Windows 7 Build 7600 leaking on the wild which was rumoured to be the RTM build but after the confirmation that it wasnt, one more RTM branch is compiled and the folks at SevenForums have the leaked build too.The build string is 6.1.7600.16385.win7_rtm.090713-1255.This was compiled on 13th July as compared to the 16384 build which was compiled on 10th July.

I ain’t sure on the hashes but this is what i got.

Windows 7 build 6.1.7600.16385 x64
File Name – 7600.16385.090713-1255_x64fre_client_en-us_Retail_Ultimate-GRMCULXFRER_EN_DVD.iso
SHA1: 326327CC2FF9F05379F5058C41BE6BC5E004BAA7

Windows 7 build 6.1.7600.16385 x86
File Name- 7600.16385.090713-1255_x86fre_client_en-us_Retail_Ultimate-GRMCULFRER_EN_DVD.iso
SHA1: 5395DC4B38F7BDB1E005FF414DEEDFDB16DBF610

I am not sure if its a Italiano build. Its probably a unpacked iso in rar format.News is that Wzor might be downloading the Chinese leak from the Russian tracker.Just search on Mininova for the torrent.

Gosugoon has some update on the hashes.

7600.16385.090713-1255_x86fre_client_en-us_Retail_AllSKU-GRMCULFRER_EN_DVD-GSG.iso (2,522,513,408 Byte)
7600.16385.090713-1255_x86fre_client_ko-kr_Retail_UltimateK-GRMCULFRER_EN_DVD-GSG.iso (2,513,928,192 Byte)
7600.16385.090713-1255_x64fre_client_ko-kr_Retail_UltimateK-GRMCULXFRER_EN_DVD-GSG.iso (3,217,232,984 Byte

I prefer waiting for the original build and wont be downloading any more builds.Do check the hashes using Windows 7 ISO verifier or MD5Checker

How to fix Critical Vulnerability in Firefox 3.5

Posted: 16 Jul 2009 04:29 PM PDT

Few weeks back Firefox had moved to version 3.5.But i found Firefox 3.0.12 version much stabler than Firefox 3.5 as i used to encounter crashes due to bad memory management. In addition to this a bug affects Firefox's new JavaScript rendering engine(TraceMonkey) and has been termed as highly critical by Secunia.

The security hole has to do with a flaw in the way Firefox 3.5 handles Javascript,a powerful programming language heavily used on popular Web sites. Specifically, the vulnerability was introduced with the addition of the Tracemonkey, a new feature in 3.5 that is designed to dramatically speed up the rendering of Javascript.Hackers can gain control of any user's system by installing spy wares when they visit an harmful website.Mozilla had said they are working on a fix asap.

Temporary solution would be to disable the Trace monkey engine.
Next in the address bar type "about:config" without quotes.
In the box type "jit". and search for this "javascript.options.jit.content".
Change its value from True to False.

What changes you observe

Slower speed as it gets reverted back to older rendering engine and its not that bad either or use Noscript

If you feel that’s a pain then download the Firefox 3.5.1 version which fixes the bug but its not released officially yet.Martin from Ghacks has the latest of the Windows version uploaded to a external mirror. You can download  Mozilla Firefox 3.5.1
