| Posted: 15 Jul 2009 12:00 PM PDT Amazon UK’s pre-order for Windows 7 officially went live on July 15, 2009 at 00:00 BST and the “promo” is set to end on August 9, 2009 at 23:59 BST. But don’t wait until the last minute because the offer is good only while supplies last! The US pre-order of Windows 7 just ended a couple of days ago. Now, it’s Europe’s turn! Windows 7 Home Premium E already appears to be sold out on Amazon UK while Windows 7 Professional E still looks plentiful. Pre-order price for Home Premium E is £50 while for Professional E, £100. But Amazon UK looks to be selling the latter for just £90 right now! See also:

| AT&T Nokia Surge, socially supercharged smartphone with full QWERTY, arriving on July 19, 2009 Posted: 15 Jul 2009 09:30 AM PDT I guess it’s about time Nokia came up with something to rival T-Mobile’s Sidekick LX 2009. Nokia’s “socially supercharged” Surge features a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard and runs on the Symbian S60 interface. It also features a 2.4″ QVGA (320 x 240) resolution screen, HSDPA connectivity up to 3.6Mbps, 2 megapixel camera, microSD expansion up to 8GB. It runs on a 1500mAh battery, same as the E71x if I’m not mistaken, which definitely means that you’ll get loads of talk and standby time.
Not quite sure how well this is going to sell since Symbian is not widely accepted across the United States. The Nokia Surge will be available online and in-store via AT&T starting July 19, 2009. It will be priced at $79.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate, which comes in the form of an AT&T Promotion Card. As always, a two-year service agreement is required.
If you’re into the nitty gritty of technology stuff, here is the specifications sheet (in PDF format) for the device. Also, below is AT&T’s commercial for the socially supercharged Nokia Surge. [via AT&T - News Room] See also:

| Amazon and Deep Discount DVD/Blu-ray sales for July 2009 Posted: 15 Jul 2009 06:00 AM PDT Coinciding with Deep Discount’s semi-annual sale, Amazon is holding a DVD/Blu-ray sale of their own. They have divided into a few categories. Most, if not all, include a healthy tandem of DVDs and Blu-rays:
If you’d rather participate on Deep Discount’s sale, use code HOTSTUFF during checkout for 25% off your whole order. Take note that they ship slower than Amazon and that they usually jack up prices during the sale. I’ll post again once the Deep Discount sale is live. Of course, you can try if the code already works because sometimes there’s a glitch in their system but I think it would be better to wait until it officially starts on July 17. The Deep Discount sale will run until August 2, 2009. [via DVD Talk Forum] See also:
