Samsung SpinPoint F3 Hard Disk Drive Posted: 30 Jul 2009 07:07 AM PDT Samsung Electronics has announced SpinPoint F3, its new line-up of high-density hard drives for high-end computing environments. The SpinPoint HDD F3 utilizes advanced 500 GB per platter technology, so that the plateau of 1TB capacity is reached. Increased areal density per tray provides up to 30 percent more than a performance of three 1TB plateau in the same 3.5-inch form factor. A reduction of mechanical parts also contributes to improving the reliability in terms of shock and failure data. New samsung hard drive uses its low noise operation technology SilentSeek and NoiseGuard to achieve a quiet operation system. In addition, the new SpinPoint F3 is compatible with the (RoHS) restriction of hazardous substances directive. The F3 works with 7200 to supply up to 1 TB of data storage capacity using two drives of 500 GB per tray. Meeting and data center for more storage to meet growing demand and increasing performance requirements, so the new drives high performance with low power for desktops and servers. The F3 includes a rotational speed of 7200 rpm, SATA 3.0Gbps interface, Native Command Queuing features and a buffer 16 MB/32MB.
