Microsoft Bing goes live today. Posted: 01 Jun 2009 04:33 AM PDT Microsoft unveiled Bing on 28th May, made it live today which is a new Decision Engine and consumer brand, providing customers with a first step in moving beyond search to help make faster, more informed decisions. This is the first step by microsoft to target Search Guru Google. Bing is specifically designed to build on the benefits of today's search engines but begins to move beyond this experience with a new approach to user experience and intuitive tools to help customers make better decisions, focusing initially on four key vertical areas: making a purchase decision, planning a trip, researching a health condition or finding a local business. The result of this new approach is an important beginning for a new and more powerful kind of search service, which Microsoft is calling a Decision Engine, designed to empower people to gain insight and knowledge from the Web, moving more quickly to important decisions. It is integrated with favorite Microsoft tools like Messenger, Hotmail and MSN, as well as popular sites like FaceBook, so you can search without leaving what you're already doing online.More on Microsoft Press. You can see and discover Bing and its new features here. This is going good for Microsoft as Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak is also a fan of Bing.Channel 9 posted a video about Bing as Steve Balmer made Bing live today. I feel Bing has some good things like the search is fast and uses the live search api to get the results. In instance when i searched for word “Tech Mania” my site was at the top of the list, while the same thing searched on google gave my site in the second spot.I was so surprised by this. I am gonna try Bing on more frequent basis to see what results it gives me.Its very early to comment on Bing right now,so why don’t you try and let me know how do you find Bing. |
