Sony USA VAIO P gets a processor speed bump to 1.6Ghz Posted: 22 Jun 2009 02:00 PM PDT Sony USA has recently bestowed a speed bump on the VAIO P series. The usual VAIO P clock speed is 1.33Ghz, the new ones going for a crazy price of $1499.99 have a 1.6Ghz processor which is on par with other brand netbooks. Also onboard: Verizon Broadband module and GPS capability. USA-released VAIO P’s are stuck with Windows Vista which is definitely a burden for Atom-based processors. In comparison, importer Dynamism sells Japan-sourced VAIO P’s which have a 2.0Ghz processor, 256GB SSD and optional Windows XP! Take your pick. [via Sony Style] See also:

Gladiator [Blu-ray], set for September 1, 2009 release date Posted: 22 Jun 2009 12:30 PM PDT Maximum Decimus Meridius has finally gone Blu!
The Blu-ray release of Gladiator will include both theatrical (155 minutes) and extended (170 minutes) versions of the film. The Ridley Scott film will span across two Blu-ray discs and will contain lots of special features. What remains to be known is how much (if not all) of the extras will be in high-definition. The audio track will be English 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio. Pre-order yours at Amazon today! (They don’t have the release date yet but I’m sure they’ll update it within the next few days.) Release date is September 1st, 2009. Extras include the following:
Frankly, I like the original DVD art a whole lot better. Plus, Sapphire Series? What’s up with that? Same movies with that will come in different series?! [via DVD Active] See also:

The Belkin Gigabit Powerline HD Starter Kit (F5D4076) package includes the following:
Here’s how this thing works:
The Belkin Gigabit Powerline HD Starter Kit (F5D4076) retails for $149.99 USD and is already available throughout various retailers in North America. It will arrive on European shores sometime early August 2009. Pretty good price if you ask me, since Belkin’s current 200Mbps Powerline AV Adapter is going for around $120 on Amazon.

Apple sells one million iPhone 3GS’s in just 3 days Posted: 22 Jun 2009 11:00 AM PDT Apple has reportedly sold one million units of their newly released iPhone 3GS in just a span of 3 days, the same rate their iPhone 3G did a year ago.
It remains to be seen if sales will continue to increase steadily just like the iPhone 3G. Meanwhile, iPhone 3.0 software downloads have already amounted to six million in just a short span of 5 days. I applaude Apple because they give the updates to all their phones, not just the new ones. Nokia and Sony Ericcson should follow in their footsteps.
