Don't laugh! Yes, I'm talking about the Metro Manila Development Agency, on which Sec. Bayani Fernando leads the team. And this is not about the political side, i am pointing and clarifying what is that FDA600 gadget that the group boasted on because it can provide efficiency to MMDA agents on streets.

FDA600 Field Digital Assistant is one of those palm computers designed for the following computing applications:



  • supply chain logistics,
  • retail,
  • route accounting,
  • door to door sales,
  • queue-busting,
  • healthcare,
  • field service, [we can put MMDA in this category]
  • utilities,
  • mobile ticketing and
  • fare collection


This gadget can identify automatically the name of Driver and other related data by just barcoding its Driver's license. In addition, it has a built-in printer and some card readers with GSM/GPRS. Early next month, or more on July 8, these gadgets will be shipped going to Philippines and the next week of that day, there would be a dummy operation using the said gadget in Metro Manila.



And the question: Can this lessen corruption to these abusive MMDA Street agents?
