Powerplaylist 2 made available for Windows 7 RC

Microsoft have made PowerPlaylist 2 available for Windows 7.What exactly is PowerPlaylist.Let me explain.PowerPlaylist adds a Custom Start Menu strip with up to five tiles to Windows Media Center in Windows Vista. Each tile represents an audio, slideshow and/or visualization combination which will start when the tile is selected.PowerPlaylist is very customizable using the PowerPlaylist Editor like the title of the Custom Start Menu strip in addition to the name, image, audio source, slideshow folder and visualization for each tile.Now for Windows 7 Poweplaylist2 is made available.Latest build which was released on 28th April,2009.

Release Notes :

  • This version is for Windows Media Center in Windows 7. If you are running Windows Vista please download the appropriate 1.0 release.
  • Uses Visual C# 2008 Express Edition and Visual C++ 2008 Express Edition.
  • C:\Users\Public\Music\PowerPlaylist\ includes sample music and playlists.
  • C:\Users\Public\Pictures\PowerPlaylist\ includes sample photos.
  • The tile in Extras Library now navigates to a page of screen shots and instructions.Slide show now respects random order setting in Windows Media Center.
  • When user specifies both a slideshow and visualization the slideshow will now win (in PowerPlaylist 1 the visualization took precedence)
  • Start Menu tiles feature 16:9 aspect ratio art made possible in Windows 7.
  • No longer need separate x86 and x64 installers — one installer works for both CPU architectures.
