| Posted: 06 May 2009 05:45 AM PDT Several days ago I buy the netbook Acer Aspire One D250 which is more slim rather than previous version Acer D150. The price is USD 540 include Windows XP Home Edition.
The specification of Acer Aspire D250 powered by Intel Atom processor (1.66GHz) detected 2 processor on the system, 1GB of RAM PC5300 and I upgrade it to 2GB, 160GB of HDD Hitachi, 10-inch LED backlit display 1024×600 WSVGA pixel resolution, Atheros Wireless network and fast ethernet controller.
Another features of Acer Aspire One like multi-in-1 card reader, 2 built-in stereo speakers, MS-Sound compatible, and dolby headphone. The webcam support 0.3M pixel for low light video chatting, bluetooth 2.0+EDR, and 6-cell li-ion battery pack. I choose the Ruby Red color because it’s my favorite color and you can choose another color type available: Sapphire Blue, Seashell White, or Diamond Black. The pro of Acer D250 is the keyboard can accommodate my big finger and I need just a little time to adjust how to type. All of the button keyboard is ergonomic for me but the heat of the pad still need to reduce. For the touchpad you can find the multi-gesture feature support circular motion scrolling, pinch-action zoom, and page flip. But I still love to use optical mouse to operate the Acer netbook. 3 USB port is enough for me and also RJ-45 port can be connected if the wireless is not available. On the specification there’s SignalUp feature for the Wifi but I dissapointed because on my office which is really hard to find the wireless hotspot, I just get 1 bar and my friend who also has Acer Aspire notebook get 3 bar. I try in any position at my office but it still the same. On my netbook the Windows XP Home already installed and I can not buy without it. But when I want to split into several partition I can not do that!! The partition is invalid and I try with some partition software but still can not split. On the forum several people said I must download the Windows XP Home original version and reformat my netbook. Split it into several partition and reinstall the XP OS. I don’t know why the built-in XP Home do that. For the battery life when I tested with always get connected to wifi on my home, the battery has 5-6 hours to live. But you must buy a new bag for your Acer netbook because they just provide soft case. And don’t forget to buy the big one, maybe for 12-inch laptop, because the battery is bigger and also you need charger and also optical mouse to include on the bag. The conclusion of Acer Aspire One D250 is need some improvement like heat on the pad must be reduce and SignalUp need more strength. But for all I like it so much because I can bring it anywhere because it’s light, small and slim netbook I ever had |
