Leaked 7100 Image may be infected with Trojan Posted: 29 Apr 2009 03:54 AM PDT After the Windows 7 RC 7100 was leaked on to torrent sites like PirateBay,more users were excited to download the RC build and test it.But what happens with the torrent sites is some aren’t real and some uploaded with a Trojan or some malware.Microsoft had warned users not to download from torrent sites as the builds may be modified and with infected images.So users should take care to have  a deep check on the torrent which is posted and keep your antivirus upto date. Now why am i saying this thing here,coz one such thing happened was the Windows 7 RC build 7100 which was posted in PirateBay was modified and was infected with Trojan.Don’t believe me eh? .Windows7Center gave the proof for it.What happened was the torrent was modified and was infected with Trojan,later the torrent was removed.So best thing is to check the MD5 hash first compare it with the image using MD5 Hash checker.I post only when i get news about the leaks so i include the MD5 hash too.Users make it point to check the hash. The image had the following incorrect build string: Windows_7_Ultimate_x86_RC_Build_7100.4866522 and the hash of infected image was 2dc70d7c851d76d49ac71167141222f7 The correct hashes are x64: 98341AF35655137966E382C4FEAA282D x86: 8867C13330F56A93944BCD46DCD73590 So request users to cross check and verify your hash tag using the MD5 hash checker and update your virus definitions and scan your pc if you have the wrong hash.So i am waiting for the official RC release by Microsoft.

RTM for Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 reached Posted: 28 Apr 2009 01:42 PM PDT So finally Microsoft has finally done with compiling the RTM version for Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008.The full version for the string is 6.0.6006.18005 as per the company officials.You will soon be getting versions on most of the bit torrent websites which comes in both 32 bit and 64 bit editions.I didn’t find any much enhancement in Vista SP2,Lets see how much RTM has to offer.Public release may be in a week or so.Thanks to Neowin for news.
