| Microsoft Zune HD coming soon? Posted: 12 Apr 2009 10:00 AM PDT Microsoft’s Zune looked like a brick, looked like a brick yet again and still looks like a brick. The leaked image above, sourced from Engadget, reportedly is the Zune HD.
Based on its looks, it will possibly utilize a touchscreen widescreen display because controls cannot be found elsewhere on the front. I’m not sure what that slim silver thing actually does but I have to say that the device would look so much better without the silver part. The device would either be so huge or surprisingly tall and slim. [via smartech] Related posts:

| Palm Pre to be launched by Sprint on May 17 or June 29? Posted: 12 Apr 2009 07:00 AM PDT
Hopefully, Palm gets wise and releases the Pre early while the hype is still alive and kicking. Demand will surely drop once other manufacturers offer their new devices as well.
Sprint is believed to start receiving shipments of the Palm Pre starting late April. If they think the shipment quantity is enough to meet the demand, they might release it on May 17th, otherwise it’ll be set on June 29th. According to PC World, Palm will be releasing a GSM version of the Palm Pre. Sprint will have exclusivity on the Palm Pre for at least 90 days. Palm fans out there, do not forget that the Palm Pre will be able to run Palm OS apps via an emulator that is being conjured up by MotionApps. Meanwhile, to keep the hype flowing, here is a video tour of the Palm Pre by Phone Scoop. Related posts:

| 3rd generation Apple iPod shuffle getting a VoiceOver update Posted: 12 Apr 2009 04:45 AM PDT
The device is getting an update to its VoiceOver feature, which reportedly corrects the pronunciation of some artist names along with some minor bug fixes. No detailed log of which bugs were fixed was provided. I don’t get the big deal with having to update the VoiceOver feature of the device. Do people actually use it that much? But I would have to salute Apple on that. Because even though it might be a feature that owners often overlook, they would think twice about it since Apple is churning out updates for it. There is Apple’s marketing tactic for you. [via TechWorldSpace] Related posts: |
| HTC Touch Diamond arrives too late at Verizon Posted: 12 Apr 2009 02:00 AM PDT
But for those of you who are thinking about getting the said device… Key features include a 2.76-inch VGA (640 x 480) touchscreen display, 3.2 megapixel autofocus camera, microSD slot expandable to 16GB, Windows Mobile 6.1 along with HTC’s TouchFLO interface on top. These nice features are hampered by having a measly 900mAh battery.
The device has been available on Verizon since April 10th, for $299.99 after $70 rebate and with a new two-year contract agreement. A pretty bad move on Verizon’s part, they should’ve waited for the Touch Diamond2 and offered that instead. While Taiwan will be getting the Touch Diamond2 sometime this month, the US will get the previous generation. Talk about being late! [via TechGadgets.in and Verizon] Related posts:

| HTC Touch Diamond2 making its debut at Taiwan this April 2009 Posted: 11 Apr 2009 10:30 PM PDT
The HTC Touch Diamond2 features a 3.2-inch WVGA (800 x 480) screen, all your usual multitude of connectivity options sans infrared, microSD expansion slot and it doesn’t have that ugly looking diamond cut edges on the back of the device. It also features a 5 megapixel camera; why HTC is inconsistent with providing LED flash units for their devices is certainly a mind-boggling thing. Couple all the mentioned stuff above with Windows Mobile and HTC’s TouchFLO interface and you’re all set to conquer the smartphone world. [via TechFresh.net] Related posts:
