Rooting android devices is becoming common these days as similar to jailbreaking in the case of iphones.Devices like Droid , Nexus one can be rooted and unlocked.Neil and Theresa from androidlib gave a technique to instantly root android devices.With the help of Instant root it becomes so easy to root android devices.

Steps to root with Instant root

Download Instant root APK file first.
Install & Run the APK file.
On receiving confirmation message, Restart your phone and that's it .Your are done.

Basically what it does is it exploits Android kernel to gain root access.However, it does not install custom firmware. Future Android updates may remove root access and stop this app working. Consider flashing custom firmware, e.g. Cyanogen, to prevent this.This has been working on All Android Devices: G1, all HTC phones (including Nexus One), Motorola Droid (not tested)

Note : Rooting your phone can cause some serious changes, just like jailbreaking on iPhone. If don't know what you are doing, don't do it.I am not responsible for any damage to your device.
