Paint Drop Sculptures.

Posted: 14 Aug 2009 06:02 AM PDT

When we came across these 'Paint Drop Sculptures ' we were really impressed by it and we were sure you too would like it. These sculptures are the creation of Chris Dorosz. He maintains a studio practice in San Francisco where he teaches at the Academy of Art University. Apart from this he also runs the studio, affordable studio space for artists in the city.
Artist's Statement:
"Out of material discovery I began to regard the primacy of the paint drop, a form that takes shape not from a brush or any human-made implement or gesture, but purely from its own viscosity and the air it falls through…………."

Staple Skyscrapers.

Posted: 14 Aug 2009 06:01 AM PDT

Low-Rise is the installation created by P. Root in 2006 using staples and mirror, and it measures 180x80cm. Thousands of stacks of staples were used to make this skyline or what the artists call "city-like mosaic". "Like a city, the staples are subject to the elements, on a micro scale. The slightest breath or vibration and the domino effect kicks in."
His work experience includes a variety of professions such as architecture, contemporary media production and education. Architecture has an influence on his work which can be seen in his use of architectonic models (both digital and physical) and technical drawing skills.
His site has some really interesting other projects too, do check them - link.

Memo Block.

Posted: 14 Aug 2009 06:00 AM PDT

What looks like a block of wood is actually made of post-it notes designed by Kenjiro Sano and it contains 1200 pages of memo notes. Kakuzai memo block beautifully brings out the relationship of wood and paper. And this reminds us of the printer advertisement that was posted in the past. Do check it.
