Firefox 3.5.2 to be out today Posted: 03 Aug 2009 06:05 AM PDT After Mozilla updated Firefox to 3.5.1 to fix the critical vulnerability due to the Tracemonkey engine, some of the users had got a notification that a new update Firefox 3.5.2 was in the waiting.Instead, Mozilla dispatched an early version of the update to those who had at one point downloaded a beta copy of Firefox 3.5 prior to its release on June 30. When the process was completed, a page was displayed that explained the surprise update Why am I part of this program? Download iPhone OS 3.0.1 Software Update Posted: 02 Aug 2009 12:14 PM PDT You should have read about flaw within Apple’s iPhone SMS feature,an exploit that could allow a hacker access to your iPhone,disabling it and making it useless.This exploit was publicized few days back at Black Hat cybersecurity conference in Las Vegas.Cybersecurity researchers Charlie Miller and Collin Mulliner discovered how hackers can disable any iPhone via a simple SMS. The flaw exploits an issue with the way the phone handles SMS messages which was announced in July and now Apple have finally released a patch to fix the sms flaw.The firmware update 3.0.1,contains only the fix for the SMS attack.Its a 230 Mb file just with the patch.This is what Apple had to say A memory corruption issue exists in the decoding of SMS messages. Receiving a maliciously crafted SMS message may lead to an unexpected service interruption or arbitrary code execution. This update addresses the issue through improved error handling. So go head and update it via iTunes but jailbreaking iphones could cost you lose some features.The update is available for all iPhone users, including first generation, iPhone 3G and iPhone 3G.
