Sony PlayStation 3 (PS3) Slim parts, torn apart and identified Posted: 26 Aug 2009 01:00 PM PDT The Sony PS3 Slim is scheduled to hit stores on September 1st but according to Engadget, it has already appeared at Best Buy stores in Florida. Be prepared for a nerdgasm as iFixit details a complete disassembly on the PS3 Slim. It’s worth noting that the only parts that take up a huge amount of space are the fan and the Blu-ray optical drive. See also:

How are USB flash drives made? An inside look at a Kingston production plant Posted: 26 Aug 2009 11:30 AM PDT USB flash drives, almost everyone carries one nowadays, but have you actually thought about the process it undergoes before it ends up at a retailer?
The video below, courtesy of Netbooknews, shows the inner workings of a Kingston automated production plant for USB flash drives. The facility is based in Taiwan. The video, overall, is quite alright but the host seems uninterested about the subject. I never thought the employees still have to manually stick those sticker labels onto the USB flash drives themselves. I would’ve thought that the stickering process was automated. Nokia N97 Mini, not too mini after all? Posted: 26 Aug 2009 10:30 AM PDT Shown here is the first official press photo of the Nokia N97 Mini from Be Geek. Looks like it will sport a mocha brown color of some kind. Evidently absent is the directional pad on the left-hand side of the QWERTY keypad. There is also a mild keypad layout makeover along with the addition of directional keys on the right-hand side.
The Nokia N97 Mini is not that much smaller compared to the N97 as can be seen on the photos below. Nothing is official yet, but rumored downgrades/upgrades include the following: smaller mass storage capacity (8GB or 16GB instead of 32GB), smaller screen (3-inch instead of 3.5-inch) and lastly, free internal memory (RAM) would supposedly tally up to 280MB on the N97 Mini as opposed to only 50MB on the N97. Up (Limited Edition) with Luxo Jr. Collectible Lamp [Blu-ray] Posted: 26 Aug 2009 05:30 AM PDT This limited edition Blu-ray + DVD release of Pixar’s Up is scheduled to be released on November 10, 2009. It includes the Up combo pack which includes the Blu-ray and DVD version of the film, along with a digital copy. So you’re pretty much covered wherever you bring the disc to.
Interestingly, it will also include a Luxo Jr. Collectible Desk Lamp. But priced at $139.99 on Amazon, it is catered to mostly avid and addict Blu-ray/DVD collectors. You can get the Blu-ray 4-disc combo pack for just $31.99 (which includes both Blu-ray and DVD versions of the film plus a digital copy), so that essentially means that you’re paying close to $110 for the exclusive lamp. Collectors will definitely get pissed just in case Pixar decides to release a standalone Luxo Jr. Collectible Desk Lamp product.
Release date: November 10, 2009 See also:
