HTC Mega reveals itself in full glory?

HTC Mega Leaked Image

The HTC Mega looks a lot like the HTC Touch HD but of course miniaturized, since the former features only a 2.8-inch QVGA screen while the latter features 3.8-inches of WSVGA real estate.

Specifications include dual-band WCDMA/HSPA 900/2100 and quad-band GSM/EDGE, a 3.2-megapixel fixed focus camera, Windows Mobile 6.5, 256MB RAM, 256MB ROM, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, microSD expansion slot… All running on a 528Mhz Qualcomm processor with 1100mAh of battery juice.

Honestly, I don’t know what’s up with the product designers of HTC because they didn’t put a LED flash on the Touch Pro2, and neither are they doing it with the HTC Mega.

No word on pricing or release date, but it seems this HTC smartphone will be targetted to budget users. HTC’s premium line usually packs its flagship 800 x 480 screen.

Nokia Booklet 3G netbook/mini laptop loaded with HDMI, GPS, etc.

Nokia Booklet 3G Netbook/Mini Laptop (Blue | Halfway Open)

Certainly you would think, what on earth is Nokia thinking by trying to release their own netbook/mini laptop? Hasn’t everybody else done the same thing already?

What differentiates the Nokia Booklet 3G from most netbooks is that it has an HDMI output port (which reportedly can be used to output HD video) along with on-board A-GPS and 12-hour battery life! Netbooks typically last only around 6 to 8 hours with 6-cell batteries and they aren’t entirely capable of HD video playback.

The Nokia Booklet 3G is also 3G/HSPA ready for when you don’t have access to a WiFi hotspot/connection. It will still be powered by an Intel Atom processor which makes it extremely doubtful to be able to play HD video. Other features of the product include a 10-inch HD ready screen, memory card reader, Bluetooth, 1.25 kilogram weight and front-facing camera.

Check out the video for the main highlights of the Nokia Booklet 3G netbook/mini laptop.

If you’re itching to know more about the Nokia Booklet 3G, the Finnish mobile phone giant will be revealing more details at Nokia World ‘09 which will be held on September 2, 2009.

Meanwhile, enjoy these snazzy looking pictures of Nokia’s first entry into the netbook/mini laptop arena.

Nokia can very well make the Booklet 3G a worldwide hit if it indeed delivers the product as currently being pitched. I mean, 10-inch HD ready display, HDMI output for HD video, 12-hour battery life, integrated A-GPS, 3G/HSPA connectivity… What more can you ask for?!
