There are two main reasons: speed and operating costs. If you need your documents quickly and you want high returns from your supplies, the price of the printer itself is growing very strongly. Dell 3330dn is, one suspects, designed for small workgroups occupied who need these features. We can only guess what is the target market, because this fast, capable machine comes with a tray of standard print of only 250 sheets - less if you use paper 80gsm standard desktop. It’s really stupid, as if you are looking for a printer valued at just under 40ppm, it must be because you have many documents to print as part of a day. Even if these documents are short, you’ll be reloading the machine more often than you should, unless you invest in the optional tray 550 sheet second, of course. It’s a big, square-cut printer, Dell and black with a wide footprint workplan. Even with its large size, it manages to cover the control panel for all pages it prints. The control panel itself is well presented with a line of four, bitmap and backlit LCD screen, menu controls and a numeric pad for secure printing via PIN. While this is handy, it would be more useful if combined with a USB port on front panel for appointment printing. Unfortunately, there is no such port. There is a USB port on the back, of course, with a 10/100 Ethernet connection and a power legacy parallel so that the 3330dn can be implemented in many different environments.Pull down the front and you have access to the combined drum and toner cartridge. The clips of toner cartridge in position on the drum, as they each have different service lives. Cartridge replacement is a job two minutes and, contrary to replace the paper will not be needed often.Dell provides drivers for PCL and PostScript for Windows, Mac OS 9.2 and OS X, UNIX, NetWare, and several Linux distributions.
